And the lead role goes to Ildikó Lendvai [UPDATED]

Sunday, April 5, 2009

As the new prime minister has been chosen, the preparations of the filming the next episode of "Who will succeed Gyurcsány as a party leader" has been started. The props, the camera and the lights have been in place for some time.

According to well-placed sources, in the morning, there were still three potential candidates competing for the leading role: Imre Szekeres, Péter Kiss and Ildikó Lendvai. But in the afternoon, Ildikó Lendvai pulled away from the pack and became the potential first runner-up.

Ildikó Lendvai has been supported by her hero, Ferenc Gyurcsany who according to rumors, used to tell funny stories to his fellow cross-dressers during the boring house sessions. The favorite one that everyone liked, was how to grease the wheel bearings of a bicycle and keep your hands clean. He learned the trick from his father who was a bicycle thief. Ildikó Lendvai loved this story.

A few days ago, we wrote that Ildikó Lendvai became the new leader of the Socialist party. In fact, then she was only a candidate; but today, she has become officially the leader of the Socialist party.

Ildiko Lendvai 63 years old. She has a background in history and philosophy. Her political career started in 1974, in the Communist Youth Organization, as an associate of the department of culture. She also worked for the Academy but she gained notoriety as the personal censor of György Acél, the most abominable head of the Hungarian cultural policy during the communist era.

After the collapse of communism, she continued her political activities in the Socialist party. In 1994, she became the president of Budapest branch of the party. In the same year, she became a member of the Parliament. Since the year 2000 up until now, she has served as vice-president of the party and since 2002, she has been working as a floor leader.

In her first speech as the new party leader, she thanked Mr. Gyurcsany the work he did for the party. She said, "We are not ashamed but proud of you".
