New Cairo Dock [VIDEO]

Thursday, April 30, 2009

If you happen to be a Linux user, you must see the newest release of the Cairo Dock. For those not familiar with the concept, dock is a 3 dimentional, animated launcher bar, usually, at the bottom of the monitor screen (but you can place it wherever you want). From this bar you can launch all kinds of applications without going to the application menu list. This is a faster and more convinient way of interacting with the computer. And great fun too. Macintosh was among the first desktop environments popularized the concept of the dock.

Linux users are lucky because they can choose from a great variety of docks made by programmers from all over the world. The most popular ones are AWN, Cairo and Gnome-do with the docky interface.

Anyhow, take a look at this video to see what this owesome peice of software can do.

Bolivian government wants to bring András Kepes to justice

Monday, April 27, 2009

The Bolivian government will start a diplomatic procedure against András Kepes to bring him to justice for keeping an essential information secret that threatened the territorial integrity of Bolivia. The government is referring to the secretly recorded Flores interview produced by Kepes and had been broadcasted in the Hungarian television, on April 21, 2009.

Juan Ramón Quintana the minister of governmental affairs said " We are going to base our procedure on the convention of international terrorism, in order to bring András Kepes to justice".

András Kepes said he had done nothing wrong by not releasing the information. "The job of the journalist is to document events, uncover background information rather than shape them," said Kepes. The killing of Flores and his associates indicated that Bolivian authorities had known about Flores' activities and learned them from other sources, said Kepes.

When he was asked about the possibility of reporting the information to authorities, he said "When the information is not about preparing a criminal act journalists have the obligation to keep that information confidential just as doctors or lawyers do it".

The story of the week: some odds and ends [UPDATED]

Sunday, April 26, 2009

José Antonio de Chazal, a Bolivian constitutional expert, raised an interesting question that might undermine the official explanation of killing Flores and his colleagues and arresting Előd Tóásó and Mario Tadic. According to the professor, Előd Tóásó might demand compensation from the Bolivian government for his maltreatment during his capture.

Tóásó's lawyer, Rigoberto Paredes Ayllón, filed an official complaint because of the maltreatment of his client during his arrest, in front of the Pan-American human rights committee. According to José Antonio de Chazal, in order to see more clearly, first we have to know who the lawyer accused of violating the rights of his client, the President, his ministers or the chief of police.

One thing is clear, it was Evo Morales who ordered the liquidation of the alleged terrorist cell; he himself said this during the Latin-American summit in Venezuela. De Chazal finds this statement important because based on this, the Bolivian government might be obliged to compensate Előd Tóásó for his mistreatment during the arrest.

According to the professor, the Bolivian constitution guaranties the inviolability of the living spaces and the corresponding legal procedures during criminal investigation. According to the law, a legal official should always be present when police investigates the living quarters of citizens.

Henry Baldelomar, another Bolivian expert raised even a more intriguing possibility. According to him, if it turns out that there was no plotting against Evo Morales, this might provide a legal base for Hungary, Croatia and Ireland to take Bolivia to International Court for the killing their citizens and for disproportionate use of force.

Despite repeated requests, Bolivian authorities still haven't provided an official account of the circumstances leading to the killing of two and the arresting of one Hungarian nationals.

Józsa Mátyás, the Hungarian Ambassador to Argentina, visiting Bolivia, complained that Bolivian authorities are delaying permit approvals for the returning of Árpad Magyarosi's body to Hungary. (Comments: perhaps, they wait till nature takes its course; on a decomposed body harder to pinpoint the marks of torture; this might be one possible reason they have been keeping the body in a morgue without cooling facility).

The Ambassador also said that Rigoberto Paredes Ayllón, the lawyer of Előd Tóásó might need a personal protection because he could be a target for defending Tóásó. The lawyer currently, examining all the circumstances led to the capture of Tóásó. He has already found a violation of the procedures: authorities provided a translator for Tóásó but translator couldn't speak Hungarian.

Hungarians living in Bolivia pointed out to the Ambassador that the Flores interview with András Kepes was mistranslated into Spanish.

The Hungarian Red Cross got involved in the donation campaign helping the Magyarosi family bring back Árpád from Bolivia.

The Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem Knights of Malta Federation of the Autonomous Priories will start an international fund raising campaign for Előd Tóásó's defense fund. The foreign affairs secretary of the Order, András Károly Nagy said that the fundamental rights of Előd Tóásó was violated during his arrest.

Bolivia's best legal firm has been commissioned to represent Tóásó. The lawyer costs 15 thousand dollars a year. The campaign will start the next week; in the same time, a non-profit organization will be set up that might serve for other Hungarian citizen in trouble as well.

András Károly Nagy also said that the Order doesn't consider Előd Tóásó a terrorist. Officials already got in touch with the Bolivian government and waiting for their approval to visit Tóásó in the jail.

After visiting Tóásó, defense lawyer Claudia Abasto said that the jail conditions for her client had improved; he gets more food but the wounds he suffered during his arrest still very much visible and he feels sick. She also said that authorities didn't want lawyers to be present during Tóásó's court appearances. Because, Tóásó's rights are violated repeatedly, it might be necessary to call upon the help of international organizations, said Claudia Abasto. She also said that there was a heightened anti-Hungarian sentiment in Bolivia and there were daily demonstrations in front of the jail.

András Károly Nagy said that the Hungarian government did everything possible to help Tóásó.

Edit Tóásó, Előd's sister said so far, she could get in touch with her brother one time, with the help of the Order; Bolivian authorities haven't permitted any kind of contact between Tóásó and his family. She said Bolivian authorities hadn't notified the family about the condition of her brother or the charges against him.

One of the problems the defense lawyers have is communication. Előd Tóásó's Spanish is not good enough to communicate with his lawyers and so far they couldn't find a suitable translator. Currently, the consul does the translation and even the Hungarian Ambassador to Argentina, currently visiting Bolivia, had to jump in as translator to help out the lawyers.

The Hungarian Red Cross reported that the fund raising drive covering transportation expenses for bringing Árpád Magyarosi's body home is still on. The money is coming in but still short of the 15 thousand dollars required to bring the body home. If everything goes according to plans Árpád Magyarosi's body will be flown back to Hungary sometime the middle of the next week. He will be buried in Budapest.

László Kéri: Jobbik represents the voice of the displaced masses

László Kéri, a political analyst, a Socialist-Liberal sympathizer said dealing with Jobbik would be a challenge to the traditional parties if the party get elected into the parliament, in the next year. According to Kéri, Jobbik will be the voice of the street in the parliament. It will represent the interests of the masses, ripped off on a daily basis.

In an interview with the Zalai Hirlap, Mr. Kéri also discussed the current economic situation of the country and the role of the new Socialist government in handling the crisis.

He said the current economic crisis is independent of ideological affiliations, in other words outside of the scope of the left-right opposition. He implied that the refusal of Fidesz to cooperate with the Bajnai government was a mistake.

However, Mr. Kéri is reluctant to admit that the depth of the current crisis is the result of seven year Socialist-Liberal rule.

Mr. Kéri is praising the Bajnai government by calling the Prime Minister apolitical; once again, implying that the solution of the current political crisis lies in the objective decision making process.

Mr. Kéri forgets to mention that Prime Minister Bajnai is a friend of Mr. Gyurcsany, the psychopathic ex-Prime Minister of Hungary, chiefly responsible for the current economic troubles; he also keeps quite about Mr. Bajani's role in bankrupting more than five hundred small farmers and driving nine into suicide.

On the other hand, he is correctly forecasting the electoral defeat of the Socialist-Liberal government, in the next general election. The economic and the socio-cultural damage of the Gyurcsany government comparable to the harm the communists did to the country after the Second World War.

The Socialist-Liberal government practically got rid of the national wealth, corrupted police, destroyed the education system, ruined the heath care system, ruined the personal security of the people by tacitly supporting gypsy crime, just mentioning a few of the evils, this government has done to the Hungarian people.

Whoever will win the next general election, it requires a Herculean effort to even partly undo the Socialist induced damage and put the county back on the right track.

Thursday, April 23, 2009

Mátyás Józsa, the Hungarian Ambassador to Argentina, flew to La Paz to visit Előd Tóásó and make arrangements for the return of Árpad Magyarosi's body to his homeland. After visiting Tóásó in the jail, Mr.Józsa confirmed that Tóásó was beaten by rifle butt when captured.

He also visited Marcelo Sosa, the chief persecutor of Bolivia who was reluctant receiving him. According to the ambassador, the law firm hired to represent Tóásó will request a medical examination report about the condition of the captured man. The ambassador said that he would be present during the examination of Tóásó.

The ambassador said that despite repeated requests, Bolivian authorities hadn't provided any official information about the incident; the only source of information the Hungarian government has is the media.

In the next couple of days, Mr. Józsa will travel to Santa Cruz to find out what actually happened when security forces killed two Hungarian nationals. He also said that he wouldn't recommend Hungarians to travel Bolivia at this time, because of the tense political situation.

Georg Spöttle: Flores had been tortured before killed

Georg Spöttle, German anti-terrorist expert said to the Bors that he was certain that Flores and his friends had been interrogated before shooting them to death. After looking at the pictures, he said there were numerous injuries on the face of Flores that couldn't have been caused by bullets. Also Árpád Magyarosi's hands were tied up with wire.

Georg Spöttle implied that the very fact that Flores was quickly buried and the two bodies have been kept in a morgue without cooling facilities pointing to the above scenario (decomposition makes injuries of torture less noticeable).

After studying the enlarged pictures, Georg Spöttle said that the faces and the other bodily injuries of the victims showed signs of torture. According to Spöttle, the probability is very high that the victims were alive for hours after the security forces raided the hotel.

Before shooting them, police wanted to find out as much information as possible about Flores connections to the Bolivian opposition. The fact that the hotel and its area was closed down for 15 hours implies that the victims were interrogated during that time.

When he was asked why did the police kill rather than arrest them, he said that liquidating them appeared less troublesome from the diplomatic point of view.

All patriotic Hungarians must unite

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

Gábor Vona, one of the most talented politicians of the post-communist era, said that the old ideological antagonism of left-right didn't apply any longer. In his recent article in the, he said that today, the social division was between patriotism and globalism.

The traditional parties are attacking and slandering Jobbik, the party lead by Vona, because they are afraid of loosing their privileges, both in the economic and in the social realms.

Jobbik is the first party since the second world war that has been organized from ground up. Because of this, the success of Jobbik is the success of the Hungarian people. If the party will be elected into the parliament, it fights for the reestablishment of the historical constitution based on the principle of the Holly Crown.

Vona said that Jobbik could cooperate with everyone that accepted and supported the fundamental principles of the traditional constitution, the preservation of the farm lands, the renegotiation of the Hungarian national debt, the establishment of a Hungarian owned bank, the reexamination of the Finn-Ugric linguistic principles, the support of local businesses, the establishment of the gendarmerie and the help of all Hungarians on the Carpathian basis.

Mr. Vona said that love rather than the hate of the enemy that glued patriotic Hungarians into a community. "Our job is to save the nation, rather than attach labels to people and decide who is extreme who is not," said Mr. Vona. "Hungary is not only a topographical depiction but the only home we have," said Mr. Vona.

The long awaited interview with Flores

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

In the secretly recorded interview, boadcasted today in the Hungarian television Flores said that he went to Bolivia to defend Santa Cruz, in case of a civil war. He said to András Kepes that he had received a request to help defending Santa Cruz from government forces.

About one and half year ago, it appeared that Bolivia would plunge into a civil war. He had been asked to help organizing the defense of Santa Cruz, said Flores. Those who contacted him wanted a peaceful secession of Santa Cruz, by demonstrating force.

There was a chance that government forces will sweep through the city and we declare independence. We had got the money and the weapons acquiring them through illegal channels, continued Flores.

He crossed into Bolivia illegally from Brazil.

He hadn't asked commission for this project because of the love of his country, said Flores. "I have never been a mercenary and never will be" he said.

When he was asked about death, he said "Here too, a brick can fall on my head, how strange it would be". "If something will happen to me, it was destined to happen" he said.

This is basically, the gist of the interview.

Linda Szászvári, the girlfriend of Flores said he had had a heart attack in 2007, when the situation in Bolivia was pretty tense. He was angry and helpless that made him sick.

Comments: After this interview, we are no closer to figure out what actually happened to him and his men, during that eight months period they spent in Bolivia. It appears to be that the political situation in the country haven't evolved the way they expected. So they just stayed there waiting. If what the hotel management is saying true, they spent most of their time waiting in a hotel. We also know that Flores was busy writing his blog and creating graphics on his laptop.
It also remains a mystery why did they chose a hotel as their headquarter when undertaking such a dangerous mission, rather than settling down in a safe-house with escape routes. Hotels are full of security cameras and infected by secret service moles. Flores should have known this after all he was a soldier.
It is also unclear what roles he assigned to the people around him. It seems that only him and the Croatian Mario Tadic had battlefield experiences. The two Hungarians and the Irish man had none. Mystery upon mystery that probably never will be revealed.

Serious irregularities in the police operation leading to the killing of Flores and his friends

Sunday, April 19, 2009

According to the president of the Bolivian Attorneys Association, the police didn't act according to the law when ambushed and killed Flores and his friends. Police didn't have the permission of the court to enter into the hotel rooms, and legal representatives of the court weren't present during the operation.

The president said that after the arrest, Előd Tóásó should have been allowed to talk to his family members and to the press. According to the law, an accused cannot be kept in isolation more than 24 hours, after that he should be allowed to talk to his family.

According to Edwin Rojas, police has violated the law when disregarded the legal procedures during the operation led to the killing of three persons.

The cache of weapons authorities showed to the press wasn't found in the hotel but in one of the containers of a nearby market. Also, hotel management confirmed that the accused remained in the hotel during the supposed assassination attempt on bishop Julio Terrazas.

Edwin Rojas demanded that authorities release the documents of the ballistic experts to know exactly what happened during the night when Flores and his friends were killed. He also found inappropriate the shutting down of the alarm system and the security cameras of the hotel by the police during the operation.

Today, Óscar Ortiz, the president of the Bolivian Senate said that killing of Flores and two of his friends by the security forces was an execution. He wants to take the issue in front of the Pan-American Human Right committee. The operation had one purpose to undermine the credibility of the opposition, said Ortiz.

Summer 2009: The international monetary system’s breakdown is underway

Saturday, April 18, 2009

GlobalEurope Anticipation Bulletin – April 17, 2009

The next stage of the crisis will result from a Chinese dream. Indeed, what on earth can China be dreaming of, caught – if we listen to Washington – in the “dollar trap” of its 1,400-billion worth of USD-denominated debt (1)? If we believe US leaders and their scores of media experts, China is only dreaming of remaining a prisoner, and even of intensifying the severity of its prison conditions by buying always more US T-Bonds and Dollars (2).

In fact, everyone knows what prisoners dream of? They dream of escaping of course, of getting out of prison. LEAP/E2020 has therefore no doubt that Beijing is now (3) constantly striving to find the means of disposing of, as early as possible, the mountain of « toxic » assets which US Treasuries and Dollars have become, keeping the wealth of 1,300 billion Chinese citizens (4) prisoner. In this issue of the GEAB (N°34), our team describes the “tunnels and galleries” Beijing has secretively begun to dig in the global financial and economic system in order to escape the « dollar trap » by the end of summer 2009. Once the US has defaulted on its debt, it will be time for the « everyman for himself » rule to prevail in the international system, in line with the final statement of the London G20 Summit which reads as a « chronicle of a geopolitical dislocation », as explained by LEAP/E2020 in this issue of the Global Europe Anticipation Bulletin.

Behind London’s « fools’ game », where everyone pretended to believe that an event of « historical » international co-operation (5) took place, the G20 summit in fact revealed major divisions. The Americans and British (followed by a compliant Japan) desperately tried to preserve their capacity to maintain control over the global financial system, freezing or diluting any significant reform granting more power to the other players, but in fact no longer powerful enough to enforce their aims. The Chinese, Russians, Indians, Brazilians,… strove to change the balance of the international monetary and financial system in their favour, but were unable (or maybe, deep down, unwilling (6)) to impose their reforms. The Europeans (the EU without the United Kingdom) proved incapable of making up their minds between the only two options available: duplicating US and UK policies and sinking along with them, or questioning the very roots of the current monetary and financial system in partnership with the Chinese, the Russians, the Indians and the Brazilians. Today the Europeans have avoided following Washington and London in their endless reproduction of failed past policies (7), but they do not yet dare to prepare for the future.

The Europeans can be held accountable if, in the remaining small window of opportunity (less than 6 months now), they fail to undertake the necessary steps to avoid a 10 year-long tragic crisis (8). Indeed they have the technical know-how that can help to create an international currency based on a basket of the world’s most important currencies, and they know which political approach is required to best combine the various strategic interests of a group of countries whose currencies would comprise the new international reserve currency. Unfortunately, EU leaders (namely Eurozone ones) clearly seem unable to face their responsibilities today, as if they preferred to let the Western system break down (though claiming the contrary) rather than fight to turn it into a bridge leading to a new global system. It may be a choice (LEAP/E2020 does not believe so); it may also be the result of the pusillanimity of EU leaders selected on the basis of their docility (vis-à-vis Washington and major European financial and economic players). In any event, this neutrality is dangerous for the world because it prevents the launch of an effective process to avoid a decade-long tragic crisis to unwind (9).

In this issue of the GEAB, our researchers anticipate the different forms a US default will take at the end of summer 2009, a US default which can no longer be concealed concealable from this April (most taxes are collected in April in the US) onward (10). The perspective of a US default this summer is becoming clearer as public debt is now completely out of control with skyrocketing expenses (+41%) and collapsing tax revenues (-28%), as LEAP/E2020 anticipated more than a year ago. In March 2009 alone, the federal deficit has nearly reached USD 200-billion (way above the most pessimistic forecasts), i.e. a little less than half of the deficit recorded for the entire year 2008 (a record high year) (11). The same trend can be observed at every level of the country’s public organisation: federal state, federated states (12), counties, towns (13), everywhere tax revenues are vanishing, suffocating the whole country with spiraling debts that no one can control anymore (not even Washington).

In this issue of the GEAB (N°34), our researchers focus on how to explain the « mystery of gold price ». Indeed, our seekers (of information, not gold) identified a number of interesting leads to understand why (14) the price of gold has been fluctuating around the same level for months when the number of gold buyers is constantly increasing and demand for coins and bars far exceeds available supply in many countries.

Finally, our team gives recommendations on how to prepare for the crisis in the coming months, with particular regard to savings and life-insurance.

(1) Total Chinese foreign exchange reserves amount to USD 2,000-billion, of which USD-denominated assets are 70 percent maximum, equal to USD 1,400 billion. The remaining 30 percent mainly consists of EUR-denominated assets.

(2) Most of the time, the same « experts » predicted that global economy would benefit from banking deregulation, that the Internet economy was opening up an era of endless growth, that US deficits were a sign of strength, that US house prices would always go up, and that taking on debt was the modern way to get rich.

(3) The message on the necessity to switch international reserve currency, sent out by Beijing to the world – to US authorities in particular –, on the eve of London’s G20 Summit, was not intended to merely test the waters nor was it some vague attempt with no hope of success. The Chinese leaders had no illusion on the chances for this topic to be actually addressed in the G20 Summit, but they wanted it to be discussed in the backrooms, because they wanted to send an unofficial signal to all the players of the international monetary system: in Beijing’s mind, the Dollar system is over! If no one wishes to prepare for a common alternative system, the alternative system will be built some other way, knowing that the actions the Chinese are currently taking corroborate this intention. For instance, precisely these days (random political schedule is rare in Beijing) a book is being published, entitled « Unhappy China », arguing that Chinese leaders should stand up and impose their choices on the international arena. Source: ChinaDailyBBS, 03/27/2009

(4) This link gives the figures to the last cent: ChineInformation.

(5) Angela Merkel was closest to the truth about the G20 summit when she called it «an almost historical event». The word “almost” is emblematic of what happened in London: the G20 leaders “almost” created a framework for a joint action programme, they “almost” launched new stimulus plans and new international financial rules, they “almost” banned tax-havens, and they “almost” convinced everyone that it would happen. “Almost” but not “really”, will make a big difference for the next stages of the crisis.

(6) In the previous issue of the GEAB (N°33), our team explained this dilemma for the “international system” today. At some point, it is in the interests of new players to simply wait for the current system to break down in order to build a new one, rather than strive to reform it, and suffer a long period of uncertainty.

(7) In particular, outrageous government borrowing - also called « economic stimulus » in Washington and London.

(8) The decisions taken at London’s G20 summit directly contribute to the long-term crisis scenario.

(9) As regards the EU, LEAP/E2020 emphasizes the inanity of all those economic and political « analyses », produced by leading economists and experts close to the American Democrats, and circulated by all the largest international mainstream media, blaming the Europeans for not following in Washington’s footsteps. Taking their lead from people like Paul Krugman for instance, these « very good friends » of Europe, who like it so much that they think they know better than Europe what is best for it (and what it should become, as indeed the same experts usually advocate its extension to Turkey, see Israel and Central Asia), whereas they would be best giving some quality advice to their own party and their new President to prevent their own country from collapsing, as this is what is really at stake today. It is beyond belief that a panel of experts, who, in all these years, sang the praises of a system which is today collapsing under everyone’s nose, still dares give lessons to the rest of the world. Basis decency suggests only one course of conduct worldwide: silence. In Europe, this position, despite the fact that it still enjoys its usual academic and media support, is too outdated to be accepted. LEAP/E2020 believes it is necessary and legitimate to cast a critical eye on the EU, its leaders and its policies; but doing so on the sole criteria of its conformity or otherwise with Washington’s (or London’s) stance is no longer acceptable. In the same way as financiers and business leaders obviously failed to understand that times had changed regarding their stock-options and “golden parachutes”, a number of intellectuals and politicians have not yet fully understood that their points of reference, values and theories now belong to the past. They should think of the elites of the Soviet bloc and they would understand how and how fast a thought system can become obsolete.

(10) Besides collapsing tax revenues, a protest movement has started in the US against using taxes to save Wall Street and against further deficits, blaming the country’s entire leading class. Sources: USA Today, 04/13/2009; MarketWatch, 04/16/2009

(11) Sources: USAToday, 04/11/2009; MarketWatch, 04/10/2009

(12) In California for instance, the first days of April suggested revenues far lesser than the worse forecasts, likely to result in multiplying two-fold California’s debt anticipated a few months ago. A similar trend is under way at the federal level, making it possible to imagine that the annual federal deficit reaches above USD 3,500 billion, i.e. 20 percent of US GDP. Source: CaliforniaCapitol, 04/08/2009

Eduardo Rózsa Flores has been buried, in Santa Cruz on Friday, in the General private cemetery. Twenty people stood next to his grave; all family members and friends. His sister, Silvia Rózsa Flores called his brother a happy and idealist man. She doubted the official explanation of the circumstances of his death, according to which his brother put up an armed resistance.

Bolivian authorities reported that they found incriminating evidence about Flores and his men. These reports should be taken with a grain of salt, because the very same authorities lied before.

The two victims, killed alongside Eduardo Rózsa Flores, Árpád Magyarosi and Michael Martin Dwyer are still in the morgue, which is without cooling facilities. It is not clear what will happen to them.

Előd Tóásó and Mario Tadic, have been taken to the Chonchocoro prison because authorities found the San Pedro unsafe, reported the El Deber. According to the szentkoronaradio, the prisoners were tortured.

The HINA Croation news agency reported that senator Ricardo Diaz accusing Branko Marinkovic, a Croatian businessman living in Santa Cruz of financing Flores and his men.

Víctor Hugo Escóbar, Bolivian police chief accused of Eduardo Rózsa Flores and his men of planning to kill the president of Bolivia. However, the nephew of Eduardo Rózsa Flores, a resident of Santa Cruz said that Flores went to Bolivia for a filming project.

Flores and his friends registered into the hotel on Tuesday evening and stayed in their rooms when the supposed assassination attempt on bishop Julio Terrazas took place, reported the hotel management. This obviously contradicts to the claim of the Bolivian government, according to which the operation has been carried out by Flores and his men.

The car that according to authorities the Flores gang used in the attempt to assassinate the bishop was in the parking lot of the hotel all the time, said hotel employees. The same employees told to the La Razon paper that police found no weapons, at all, in any of the rooms.

Hotel employees reported other strange things happening during the night when Flores and his friends were killed. The security camera wasn't working on Thursday morning, between 3:10 am to 9 am, the time when the operation took place.

Security forces blew out first, the door of room 458; this was Flores' room. Here they found ten bullets. In the room of Árpád Magyarosi, they found three bullets and in the room of Michael Martin Dwyer, one bullet.

Hotel management said that they would file an official protest because a special police unit coming from La Paz, deleted all guest information from the hotel's computers.

All these accidents show that the Bolivian government's version of killing Flores and his friends has no truth value. What we know for sure is that three men were ambushed and killed in a hotel room by security forces. There was no shootout as it was reported previously. No weapons and explosives have been found either. It is highly unlikely, even bizarre to think that an experienced soldier like Flores, sets up his clandestine headquarter in a hotel full of cameras and other recording devices, rather than in a safe-house with escape routes.

Obviously, the three men were in the hotel for other reasons then the police tells us. Even a few days before he was killed, Flores was busy creating graphics for his blog and writing a long article to free five Hungarian boys from Serbian jail. It is ridiculous to think that someone who is about to assassinate a president spending his evenings creating graphics and blog entries.

The truth is that at this point, we don't know what Flores and his friends did in Bolivia. Whatever, Bolivian authorities are saying can be safely disregarded. Let's wait until April 21, when the secretly recorded interview with Flores will be broadcasted. That may provide more clues about this tragic event.

The last will of Eduardo Rózsa Flores will be revealed on April 21

Friday, April 17, 2009

Before Eduardo Rózsa Flores left for Bolivia, he had given a secrete interview to András Kepes, the only person, he has ever trusted. During the interview, not even the cameraman was present, only two of them. "He told me not to talk to anyone about this interview while there was a chance he could come back from Bolivia" said Kepes.

"From this interview, it will be crystal clear why Eduardo went to Bolivia. All the mosaics will fall into their places, when we learn the background information that all media interpreted differently" said Kepes.

András Kepes was in touch with Eduardo Rózsa Flores until he was killed. "He told me that he trusted only in me and that the interview was practically his last will" said Mr. Kepes.

"The Bolivian government has a version of the events, the opposition has another one, on April 21, we will learn Eduardo's version--why he went to Bolivia" said Mr. Kepes.

The Hungarian television will broadcast the interview on April 21, as part of the "Unusual Stories" series.

Eduardo Rózsa Flores and Árpád Magyarosi are the two Hungarians killed in Bolivia [UPDATED]

According to news reports the two Hungarians killed by Bolivian security forces in the Santa Cruz, on Thursday were Eduardo Rózsa Flores and Árpád Magyarosi. An Irish national, Michael Martin Dwyer, was also killed. The third Hungarian, Előd Tóásó was arrested withMario Francisco Fardig Astorga, a Bolivian citizen.

There are conflicting reports what really happened during the shootout. According to Bolivian police sources, officers found C-4 plastic explosives and Uzi sub-machine gun in Eduardo Rózsa Flores' hotel room. According to the Bolivian opposition, the official story about the shootout and the killing of Eduardo Rózsa Flores was a fabrication.

Eduardo Rózsa Flores is a Hungarian, Croatian and Bolivian citizen. He is a known filmmaker, writer and poet. He fought in the Croatian War of Independence after the break up of Yugoslavia; for his service, he got the Croatian citizenship.

Eduardo Rózsa Flores, was a Hungarian patriot. In his last blog entry, he spoke up against the imprisonment of five Hungarian boys in Serbia.

According to Zoltán Bolek, a friend, Eduardo Rózsa Flores left Hungary 9 months ago. "I have some business to do abroad" he said. But he didn't say anything about his mission. According to Mr. Bolek, Eduardo Rózsa Flores wrote his last will, a few days ago. "I will sue those who will call him a terrorist" said Mr. Bolek. He was a passionate man fighting for the freedom of Hungarians and Croatians, not only in words but in deeds too, though he was also a poet, said Mr. Bolek.

Zoltán Brády is the editor of the Kapu magazine where Eduardo Rózsa Flores was a contributor. He kept in touch with Eduardo and talked to him two days before he was killed.

According to Mr. Brády, it is out of question that the group wanted to assassinate Evo Morales, in fact they were assassinated by the Bolivian security forces.

Eduardo was fed up with the Hungarian political situation and left for Bolivia where a civil war has been going on for some time. Eduardo's birth place, the city of Santa Cruz, has been fighting for separation.

"Eduardo was a guerrilla fighter and was living in the Bolivian jungle for some time, having guerrilla activities everyday with thousands of his fellow fighters. But it is not true that he wanted to assassinate the president or anyone else. He was a soldier and a guerrilla" said his fellow journalist Zoltán Brády.

It was the Kapu magazine where Eduardo regularly published his articles and essays; the same magazine published some of his books including his poetry. "...the main motifs of his poems were love, freedom and struggle" said the editor of the Kapu magazine.

Not so long ago, he sent a lengthy interview where he revealed the capture and the last days ofChe Guevara. "We know from this interview, how different was the real story from what the media reported about it" said the editor of the Kapu magazine. "His sense of justice that motivated him. We called him the modern "Petőfi" (Petőfi was the martyr poet of the Hungarians); once, I told him you would fell at Segesvár (Segesvár is the town where Petőfi fell) too. But I would have never thought that he falls in Bolivia" said the editor of the Kapu magazine.

Árpad Magyarosi killed alongside Eduardo Rózsa Flores

Árpád Magyarosi was the other Hungarian killed alongside Eduardo Rózsa Flores. He was born on February 4, 1981 in Marosvásárhely, Romania. He attended elementary school in Szovata and continued his studies in Budapest. He changed high schools and universities a few times. He liked music since he was little. He founded his first band in high school, in 1991.

"He was an all smile boy" said Zsuzsanna B., one of his classmate when he attended a school in Debrecen. "When somebody was sad he took his guitar and started singing to him to cheer him up. It is impossible that Árpád was a terrorist" said the girl. "He was a patriot but nothing indicated that he had foreign contacts" said his classmate.

Árpád received a teaching degree from the Kölcsey College in Debrecen and already registered to the liberal studies department of the University of Debrecen.

It turned out that Árpád was not only a true patriot but a good song writer and musician as well. Here, he sings his last song. "Piros szív, fehér hó, zöld levél" (Red heart, white snow, green leaf).

The third Hungarian, Előd Tóásó was captured.

Előd Tóásó, the third Hungarian who was captured by Bolivian security forces, was born in Marosvásárhely, Romania. He attended elementary school in Szovata, just as Árpád Magyarosi. He studied at the Berzsenyi Dániel College and the Zrínyi Miklós Military Academy in Hungary at the engineering department.

According to Lajos Szelestey, Bolivian authorities have already questioned Előd Tóásó. Hungarian authorities hired a lawyer, who was also present during the questioning period.

Michael Martin Dwyer, an Irish national, is the third victim killed alongside Flores and Magyarosi.

The alleged Hungarian assassins of Evo Morales

Thursday, April 16, 2009

According to scattered reports coming out of Bolivia, security forces foiled an attempt on the life of Evo Morales. Three foreign mercenaries have been killed in the fighting. Two assassins have been arrested.

According to the BBC, there were two Hungarian nationals among those killed in the shootout. Other sources are reporting about Romanian and Irish plotters.

Arriving in Venezuela for a summit Morales said, "Yesterday, I gave instruction to the vice president to move to arrest these mercenaries and this morning I was informed of a half-hour shootout at a hotel in the city of Santa Cruz,"

According to government sources the group had links to right wing Bolivian groups opposing the Morales government.

Vice President Garcia said that the plotters carried hand grenades and other explosives and attacked the police. Police chief Hugo Escobar said that documents had been found about the assassination attempt after the shootout.

La Razón, Bolivian daily reported that the captured plotters were also Hungarian nationals.

Hungary has no embassy in Bolivia; diplomatic affairs in the region are handled by the Hungarian Embassy in Argentina.

Zsolt Király, the Hungarian consul in Argentina, said that embassy officials were already in contact with Bolivian authorities. They promised an official statement about the incident, on Friday.

Comments: there is something iffy about this news. I always have this feeling when learn about assassins leaving documented plans behind them.

By John S. Hatch

A recent article published in the respected peer-reviewed Open Chemical Physics Journal by nine noted scientists offers incontrovertible proof that the dust from the Twin Towers and Building Seven of the World Trade Center contains small intact samples of Thermite.

Thermite is a highly explosive agent consisting mostly of aluminum and iron oxide, and is used to cut steel in building controlled demolitions, and is also used in welding and in military applications.

Using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry, the scientists were able to determine that the Thermite present is of a specialized type called Nano-thermite or Superthermite. It burns hotter and has a lower ignition temperature than normal Thermite, and is produced at laboratories such as Lawrence Livermore, incidentally thought to be the same lab that produced the anthrax sent out shortly after 9/11.

Nano-thermite could not be accidentally present in dust samples collected at four different sites, nor could it be the result of clean-up operations at ground zero, as one of the samples was retrieved a mere ten minutes or so after the collapse of the second tower. All samples show the same consistency.

This would explain the streams of molten steel (not aluminum) falling from one of the towers, and the fact that steel remained molten in the rubble for more than a month after the event. There is no scientific explanation for this other than the use of Thermite, which can achieve temperatures of 3500 C, while under ideal conditions jet fuel can achieve just approximately 285 C. It would also explain the otherwise physically impossible near freefall speed of the three buildings, and how they were able to fall so homogeneously.

So what does it mean? It means that there is proof (which so far no one has attempted to refute) that the WTC buildings (and more than three thousand lives, counting the ongoing deaths of first responders and ordinary NYC citizens caused by the dust) were brought down by controlled demolition in a planned and purposeful manner by elements of the Bush Administration, most likely as a ‘catalyzing event’ , the new Pearl Harbor’ fondly mentioned by neo-con PNAC (Plan for the New American Century) and designed to galvanize American citizens in support of attacking other nations and restricting human rights at home. ‘Full Specter Domination’.

This was the excuse or invading Afghanistan and Iraq (there were plans for Syria and Iran as well, and perhaps others), for justifying domestic spying, disappearances, torture, and murder. Murder based on lies and deception, and the killing of American citizens.

Knowing, as he must by now, that 9/11 was conceived and executed not from some dark cave in Afghanistan, but much more likely from some deep bunker in dank Cheneystan, will President Obama still insist on ‘looking ahead’? Just how deep is America’s reserve of dismissal and denial?

I feel for all the victims of 9/11, past, present and future, but was especially haunted by those poor souls who chose to jump to their deaths, or who fell. Surely the people who did this need to be brought to justice. Otherwise America is not ‘looking ahead’. She has her eyes shut tight while she babbles inanities.

50 gypsies go to England to find happiness

From the village of Ivan, 50 gypsies set out to go to England. For the time being only for six months; but if they will be satisfied, they might stay and hopefully others will join to them.

The gypsies want to work as gardeners.

A special gypsy enterprise has been formed for arranging their transportation.

The mayor of the village, Tibor Vass said that he was happy to see the gypsies going because unemployment among them were very high. He said that this was an opportunity for the gypsies to get job abroad.

There are 300 gypsy families live in the village. 90 percent of them out of work. The municipality helps them, as much as it can. In February, it gave 100 thousand forints to the gypsy minority council to distribute the money among the families.

The president of the gypsy minority council said, he hoped that the gypsies will find a happy life in England.

84 year old woman was beaten and robbed by gypsy criminals

A 84 year old woman was beaten and robbed by gypsy criminals, on Friday morning. The robbers broke into her small house, beat her unconscious and took her saving she put aside for getting her house fixed up.

"Without uttering a word, they started beating me, they took my money and some of my jewelry," said the old lady.

The robbers entered into Ilonka's house through the backdoor, around midnight. "I got scared when I noticed the light, but I didn't see who the people were. I couldn't see how many of them came in, neither the clothing, they wore. I didn't hear their voices, neither I remember the duration of the time they beat me. Look at me, I still cannot open my left eye. Why did they do this to me?" said the old lady.

She lost consciousness during the assault. Her neighbors found her and called the ambulance and the police.

Police arrested two men, as a result of the robbery. Of course, the gypsies denied the crime. They have been released the same day.

Comments: This is a typical behavior on the part of the Hungarian police force. Police let gypsy criminals go free, in the mean time harassing and arresting Hungarians on the basis of suspicion, without any proof, or on fake evidence. As a result, many gypsy criminals, including murderers have been roaming the country, terrorizing the peaceful population.

National Portrait Gallery: Gábor Vona

Monday, April 13, 2009

Gábor Vona was born in 1978, in the town of Gyöngyös. His parents were small farmers and he was brought up with strong traditional values. His parents are retied but his aunt is still active as a farmer. He attended the Eötvös Loránd University receiving a Teaching Degree in History. However, he worked only for a short time as a teacher. Currently, he is a product manager for a security firm.

He is married and has one son.

One of the influences in his life was the memory of his grandfather who died fighting against the Red Army, during the Second World War. He was a young man when died and saw his son only two times as a baby.

During his university years, Mr. Vona was active in the Christian Student Committee. Later, he became the president of the Christian Intellectual Association (Keresztény Értelmiségiek Szövetsége). In 2002, for the invitation of Viktor Orban, he joined to the Association for the Nation Club (Szövetség a Nemzetért Polgári Kör).

He was one of the architects of the Conservative Youth Community that he considers one of the most decisive achievements of his early political career. In 2003, the Conservative Youth Community was transformed into a political party, called Jobbik. Mr. Vona was elected as one of the vice-presidents and in 2006, the president of the party.

The Hungarian Guard was also Mr. Vona's brainchild. It was founded in 2007 and turned out to be one of the most loved organizations in the country. The Hungarian Guard is fighting for the rights of the poor and terror stricken Hungarians living in crime infested areas.

Mr. Vona is working hard to establish Jobbik as a decisive force in the Hungarian political arena. Despite all odds, the popularity of Jobbik is growing by leaps and bounds. The liberal and the moderately nationalist media have been boycotting Mr. Vona and his party for a long time, but since the party's decisive victory during the EP Election Jobbik officials getting more coverage, both in the printed and the digital media.

Under the leadership of Mr. Vona, Jobbik receives increasing support in municipal and by-elections as well. According to recent polls Jobbik's support is around 10 percent and growing. This is well over the threshold limit necessary to get into the parliament in the upcoming general election, in 2010.

In a brilliant move, Mr. Vona recruited Krisztina Morvai to run as party candidate in the EU parliament election, in 2009. Ms. Morvai is a popular and tireless human rights activist, one of the founders of "The Foundation for Legal Defense of Hungarians’ Rights", made up by a group of lawyers active in investigating police brutality and government wrongdoings.

Mr. Vona introduced a new term into the oppressive "politically correct" discourse--gypsy crime. With this move, he earned all the hatred of the liberal establishment that was working hard to cover up gypsy crime that has been paralyzing large parts of the country.

Freedom for the boys of Temerin

Sunday, April 12, 2009

In 2004, in the Serbian town of Temerin, five youngsters, all Hungarian nationals, got into a fight with a man, called Zoran Petrovic (38). The boys were out having a good time when they were picked on by Zoran Petrovic, an alcoholic and drug addict. A fight erupted where Zoran Petrovic seriously injured; though, it couldn't be unequivocally proven that all of his injuries were fight related.

The boys were questioned by Serbian police as witnesses, then charged with assault and attempted murder and sentenced to a combined jail term of 61 years. István Máriás (22) received 15 years, Zsolt Illés (26) 13 years, Zoltán Szakáll (25) 11 years and 6 months, József Uracs (29) 11 years and 6 months and Árpád Horváth (19) 10 years.

According to human rights activists in in Serbia, the draconian sentence served a political purpose. Serbian authorities wanted to divert the attention of the international community from the atrocities committed against Hungarians in Vojvodina and possibly intimidating the Hungarian community. The attacks against Hungarian nationals have been continuing ever since.

To see the double standards used by Serbian courts, consider the following cases.

In the town of Magyarkanizsa, a Serbian national shot József Sarnyai five times and received 6 year jail term. Another incident, six Serbian men threw a Hungarian man into the Danube river trying to kill him. The six attackers received a combined sentence of 15 years for attempted murder. A few years ago, two Serbian men assaulted a Hungarian national, Mátyás Kovács; as a result of the attack, the man's spleen had to be removed. The attackers were sentenced to 1 year and 10 months and 6 months jail term. The examples could be continued but these few cases suffice to show the double standards Serbian courts use when sentencing Hungarian nationals.

According to witnesses, when Zoran Petrovic arrived to town, he was already drunk or under the influence of drugs. He visited many discos but was thrown out because insulted the guests. He couldn't pinpoint who he had a fight with and didn't remember how he got to the place where he got into trouble. Despite this and other inconsistencies, Serbian police fabricated an attempted murder case from a simple street fight to which the Serbian media provided the publicity. The media portrayed the five boys as beasts. As a result, they received a total sentence of 61 years, a sentence not even war criminals used to get.

For the sake of fairness, we have to say that the treasonous Gyurcsany regime made no effort to get involved in the process in behalf of the boys and their families. But the days of this government are numbered. A year from now, there will be a new government in Hungary that I am sure will work with Serbian authorities to rectify this outrageous injustice. There is cause for optimism.

The statement of the families of the five youngsters

We are the parents and family members of the five young men that received a draconian sentence of 10 to 15 years each, unjustly. We, the parents of István Máriás, Zsolt Illés, Zoltán Szakáll, József Uracs and Árpád Horváth have never denied that our sons responsible for what they did. But we cannot accept the draconian sentences they received. Our sons have been serving their sentences for 29 months, in the prison of Sremska Mitrovica, for a street fight in a market place that police labeled as attempted murder and the court approved it. The Serbian political situation greatly contributed to the fact that the court imposed such a harsh prison term on our sons. As a reminder, let us say that when our sons got into fight with the violent drug dealer that was the time when Hungarians in Vojvodina were physically attacked, en mass, and the Hungarian civil rights movements spoke out against the violence and the inability of police and the court to prevent the attacks. The trial of our sons took place behind closed doors. The court used double standards when sentencing our children. In police custody our sons were maltreated and were forbidden to use their mother tongue. All appeals against the harsh sentences were rejected and the highest court of Serbia approved the sentence.

In our letters, we are asking you to help to free our children and assist the poverty stricken families if you can. Two and half years of legal wranglings broke us, financially. We are now forced to collect social assistance; yet, we continue our straggle for justice and freedom by trying to get a new trial.

Your financial contribution can help our endeavor to continue our straggle and get a new trial. We are asking you to publicize this letter wherever you can and bring it to the attention of others. We have an International and a local bank accounts for contributions. We thank you for all contributions.

Respectfully, the parents and the families of the boys of Temerin: the Horvath, the Máriás, the Szakáll, the Uracs and the Illés families.

Tibor Draskovics and the "Magyarok Nyilai"

Saturday, April 11, 2009

Picture: Draskovics today and as a young communist 30 years ago

Tibor Draskovics, the Minister responsible for police and law enforcement, a Hungarian-hater, the champion of double standards and a one time young communist, said that the police had arrested four people who belonged to the "Magyarok Nyilai" terrorist organization. According to him, the group wanted to blow up the house of a socialist member of the parliament, László Ecsődi.

Scaremonger Draskovics said that "There are obvious signs that a local, politically motivated terrorist organization made its appearance in Hungary".

Four people have been charged with possession of explosives and firearms. In addition, one of them is charged with planning to blow up the house of László Ecsődi, the socialist member of the parliament. Police suspect that the same person fired a shot to the house of Istvan Hiller, the Minister of Education, in 2007.

Police reported that a special unit arrested four men, on Thursday and in addition to the explosives in a garage, officers found equipments that can be used for assembling explosive devices, as well as seventy bullets .

(Comments: Take this news with a grain of salt; the vague statement, the lack of specifics and the fact that it comes from a discredited man, makes the news more than suspicious. There is a chance that the arrest is staged by the secrete service. It might be that corrupt government officials want to crack down on a certain segment of society and looking for reasons to do that. See, if the news will be kept in the media or will be forgotten completely; that would tell you that the spectacle was a false flag operation).
