Incident at the South-American festival in Budapest

Sunday, June 28, 2009

The mainstream media didn't report the incident that took place at the Indian Cultural Festival put together by Bolivian, Peruvian and Ecuadorian nationals, even though, lots of journalists were present.

A group of young people organized a flashmob to draw attention to the case of Előd Tóásó and Mario Tadic and demand justice for their murdered friends.

The young people managed to infiltrate into the festival site and put up banners demanding freedom for Előd Tóásó and Mario Tadic and justice for Eduardo Rózsa Flores, Árpád Magyarosi and Michael Dwyer.

However, they were quickly overpowered and attacked by the participants, throwing bottles and glasses to the youngsters. Even a small brawl developed among the young people and the attendants, just before police arrived.

The festival had some distinguished guests, as well--ambassadors and local politicians.

The young people are considering their action a success, as they managed to draw attention to the plight of the prisoners.

Here are some of the pictures made by the protesters themselves.
