
The World Federation of Hungarians has become the member of the The European Union of Exiled and Expelled People – EUEEP, which is an international Non – Governmental Organization founded in December, 2007 after a multi-annual route of contacts and relationships between organizations of refugees in Europe.
Principles and aims
The principles that build the Statute of EUEEP were already pointed out in the Declaration of Trieste, a document of intents signed on the 31th , March 2007 by more than thirty organizations representing exiled and expelled people from Europe, the Americas, Russian and Baltic area and the Near East.
The statutory purposes and aims of EUEEP, as an organization of patronage, are to represent today a class of more than five million European citizens out of those 25 millions deported or forcibly transferred from the territories of origin.
Objectives
In particular EUEEP aims to fulfill the defense of human rights and the protection of the interests of the class represented and to fulfill the duty of perpetuate the memory of the tragedies that have hit it. In addition, it wants to achieve by peaceful means and in conformity with the principles of justice, international law and international and universal conventions , the solution of disputes and repair the serious and unjust violations involving millions of people still outside, forcibly expelled and transferred in Europe.
To achieve these final results EUEEP seeks the recognition of the genocide for its represented basis.
The primary aim of EUEEP is to achieve ,between the European Union, the Nations members of the Council of Europe, the United Nations and EUEEP ,the developement of an international cooperation in solving problems arising from the violation of fundamental human rights and all conventions and international treaties that affect exiled people and refugees in Europe.
This is implemented with the formal request to the European Commission of a permanent committee, which will see sit at the same table of institutional comparison nations that have been involved in disputes related or linked to exiled and expelled people and their rights ignored, and the delegates of EUEEP as well,as the only trade union organization of this category in Europe.
