Chaos in Budapest [continually updated]

Police cordoned off the entire Szabadság tér, where HVIM organized the sympathy demonstration for the release of political prisoners. They also cordoned off the Basilica square; another popular place for protest. This is where Krisztina Morvai was assaulted by police, in the last year.

There are reports that police arrested a man wearing the uniform of the Hungarian Guard.

Police will arrest anyone wearing uniform.

The Elisabeth bridge was closed off from pedestrian traffic.

Police intercepted a bus carrying Guard members from the city of Eger to Budapest.

Gabor Vona the head of Jobbik arrived to the Erzsébet tér and joined to members of the Guard that are holding hands in a sitting protest.


The cops charged demonstrators by spraying teargas, indiscriminately, on everyone.

There are clashes between demonstrators and the cops.

Gabor Vona was seized and taken away by the Stalinist police.

So far, seventy demonstrators have been arrested, among others, Gabor Vona the head of Jobbik, said the police spokesperson.
