Four medals in the first day of World Championship Canoe Marathon 2009

Hungarian paddlers won four medals in the first day of the World Championship Canoe Marathon 2009.

In Race 2, K1 Women Junior, Alexandra Georgopoulou won the gold medal. In the same race Enikő Vaczai got the bronze.

In Race 4, K1 Women Under 23, Eszter Havas won the bronze medal.

In Race 3, C1 Men Junior, Ádám Dóczé also won bronze.

The Course

The World Championship Canoe Marathon 2009 has a 4,3 kilometers lap,
2000 meters from turning point to turning point and 150 meters radius both sides.
The start, finish line and portage are near the nautical club of crestuma, as seen in the picture below.



All athletes have to navigate, during the race, with all the signalized path boys on the left side, preventing different groups of paddlers to cross between them.
