Attila Retkes, the leader of the defunct Liberal party wants LAJOS BOKROS, the ex-Finance Minister of the Horn administration to be the joint prime ministerial candidate of the SZDSZ, MDF and the MSZP parties, expected to form the opposition in the next parliament. Retkes is worrying about the possible landslide victory of Fidesz in the spring election. The goal is to preserve the current system based on corruption and treason.
Lajos Bokros is a true democrat and has the knowledge and the strategic vision to put up an alternative to Viktor Orban, the leader of the opposition, said Retkes.
The Bokros package, during the Horn administration, was the first, truly devastating economic measure that robbed the majority of the population from its assets and started the deindustrialization process and the wide-scale looting of the country by international corporations.
Retkes wants to nominate liberal candidates in each of the 176 riding and hoping that the anti-Hungarian party can send candidates in the next parliament.
Szabolcs Kerék-Bárczy, the spokesperson of the MDF the party of opportunists, already sees the benefits of nominating Bokros.
The Socialists still haven't responded to the challenge. It is known that the corrupt party has a hard time finding a credible leader that could show strength against Viktor Orban the leader of Fidesz.
