History has proven unequivocally that use of force is the most inefficient way of controlling people. The basic principle--action triggers reaction--works in every level of society.
The smart strategy of avoiding force worked magic in most western countries during the post-world war era. The dismantling of the extended family and the loosening up social conformity in western countries (in other words, individualizing every aspects of human relations) took place by introducing subtle changes into human relations by appealing to the imagination of young people. Little by little, new patterns have been introduced into society, that gradually displaced traditional values; in other words, the ruse worked. This is how feminism, homosexuality, pornography, drug use have been introduced into western societies.
The bitter pills have been sugarcoated and as people went along their daily life, they took the goodies in small doses and swallowed them in tiny capsules that tasted good. At the end of the day, western societies have been re-engineered stealthily without the population noticing it. Societies have fallen into their individual parts and meaningful human relations have been replaced by an enchanted reality based on the metaphor of the lone individual who is "eating alone in public"; the idea has been described, in a rather poetic fashion by the French philosopher Jean Baudrillard:”...there is a certain solitude like no other – that of the man preparing his meal in public on a wall, or on the hood of his car, or along a fence, alone. You see that all the time here [New York]. It is the saddest sight in the world. Sadder than destitution, sadder than a beggar is the man who eats alone in public.”
The transformation of traditional western cultures into individualized liberal societies took place in a prolonged period of time. This is why the process worked so smoothly.
Something similar happened, during the Kádár era in Hungary, which was the most "prosperous" barrack in the Soviet block. After the 1956 revolution, communists struck a deal with society; people were allowed “to prosper” in condition of relinquishing their political ambitions. Appealing to their hedonistic senses people happily gave up their fundamental rights of self-determination that for the average person was an abstraction anyway. During the decades, this deal corrupted the entire nation and the collapse of communism, in 1989, found Hungarians in a terrifying spiritual state.
The current tragic situation can be traced back to the communist era. The fact that the most sinister characters in the history of the nation have been voted into power three times, shows the state of mind of the average person. By tricks and disinformation, the old guard managed to keep society under control and has been ruling the country unabated since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
However, along the way something unexpected happened. Ferenc Gyurcsány, the ex-Prime Minister of Hungary and his accomplices made a major mistake. They failed to observe the basic rule that even the ancient Romans understood quite well—people need circus and bread to remain obedient. There was no lack of spectacle, as the television stations and the mainstream media turned out to be pretty good in clowning, but the bread was in short supply, as the regime introduced an open looting season into society that was brutal and even the dumb down masses found it too much.
Closing down hospitals and schools, the destruction of public transportation and unleashing Gypsy crime on society have been too much to bear even for die-hard socialist voters.
Skyrocketing gypsy crime in the past eight years hasn't been a spontaneous occurrence but a staged event. It is the result of machinations by behind the scene forces wanting to paralyze the ability of the people to object the wide scale looting of the country. A society that is preoccupied with its own physical survival has no time to pay heed to issues fundamental to its own future. But the experiment failed because corrupt politicians tried to rush the project through that in turn, revealed the nature of the plot triggering a major backlash in society.
Add to this the high prices, slave wages, the ever present corruption in every level of society including police and the justice system, than it becomes understandable why the population lost confidence in the current political system leaving the Hungarian Guard the only credible force in the country.
The other aim of the hidden agenda of the Gyurcsany government is to impoverish the countryside that is still the bastion of Hungarian culture. In small towns tradition still holds, as opposed to the big cities where more and more people "eat alone" as the uprooted individual no longer capable of developing meaningful human contacts. Those who understand what's going on behind the scene consider the countryside as the last battle ground where the future of the country will be won or lost. An increasing number of organizations are demanding the development of local economy, the support of local food production and the establishment of local banks that specialize financing local businesses.
The awakening has energized every segment of society including rock musicians. Anti-establishment rock bands like “Hungarica”, “Szkitia”, “Ismerős Arcok”, “Kárpátia” “Kormoran” are popping up in every parts of the county and spreading the message of patriotism. The mainstream media tries to ignore these authentic outbursts of patriotic feelings but the tide is turning that seems unstoppable. Football fans too are organizing themselves along national issues and openly supporting ideas embraced by patriotic organizations.
The first signs that a full blown social revival has started came in the fall of 2006, when tens of thousands of people rushed to the streets to celebrate the 1956 revolution and demonstrate against the policy of the government coming into power by a rigged vote admitted by the psychopathic Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány in a cynical speech to his supporters, in 2006: “We lied in the morning, we lied in the evening...We did everything to keep that secret to the end of the electoral campaign...We screwed up, big time...No country in Europe has been so blatant. We obviously lied through the past one and a half to two years. And meanwhile, we didn't do a thing for four years -- nothing.”
The regime put down the revolt by unprecedented brutality that one got used to seeing in third world dictatorships. But rather than slowing down, police brutality sped up the awakening of the people that by the time of the European Parliamentary Election voted three Jobbik candidates into the European Parliament. The anti-Hungarian liberal party was wiped off the map and the support of other parties, besides Fidesz and Jobbik, dropped to all time low.
The support of Jobbik is growing by leaps and bounds despite the fact that it is boycotted by the mainstream media. Teachers, doctors, small farmers started organizing themselves and the socialist party is collapsing due to voters defections and internal wranglings.
Tragedy has always have a silver lining. In a bizarre sense, the patriotic movement owes a big thank you to Ferenc Gyurcsány and his partners in crime for helping this amazing process of awakening realized that otherwise might have taken longer to be accomplished. In this sense their lies and treasonous policies helped the agenda of the patriotic movement and the awakening of the people.
