Gypsies wanted to lynch police officers

Thursday, November 5, 2009

The following letter has been written by a retired police officer to Krisztina Morvai.

Three weeks ago hundreds of Gypsies stormed the Nagykáta police station. The reason: a police officer roughed up and arrested a Gypsy boy. Soon after the incident, hundreds of Gypsies surrounded the station, in order to lynch the police officer, József Darázs. Three terrified officers stuck inside the police station. Police chief, Ágnes Zajacz , who received the “police officer of the year award” in the previous year and crime prevention officer Ferenc Veres didn't help their beleaguered colleagues, despite the fact that they live only 300 meters from the police station.

Outside, the raging Gypsies shouted slogans like “we are going to lynch". The terrified officers begged for help from the Pest district police the eventually lifted the siege. The Pest district court is investigating the incident.

I’m writing this letter because the mainstream media didn’t report the news and the cowardly police chief of Nagykáta tries to cover it up, in order to save her position.

I know about the incident from my ex-colleague who I served with for 20 years. I can name the police officers that were part of the ordeal.

Please help the news coming to light, because it is not an everyday occurrence that hundreds of Gypsies want to lynch police officers.
