According to Bernardo Montenegro and Pablo Banegas, Eduardo Rózsa Flores, Árpád Magyarosi and Michael Martin Dwyer were killed in cold blood. The two members of the Bolivian parliament are in Hungary on a fact finding mission. They said the evidence they collected in Hungary and the reports of the Bolivian media contradicted to the Bolivian government’s account of the incident.
On Thursday, the delegation met with Hungarian Foreign Ministry officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with the Magyarosi and Tóásó’s families at the Hungarian Red Cross office; among them with Árpád Magyarosi’s mother, Előd Tóásó’s sister, several friends, colleagues and students of Előd Tóásó that talked about Tóásó, as a man, as a friend and as a teacher.
A great variety of issues have been discussed during the four hour meeting; family members gave to the delegation the Magyarosi’s autopsy report and a film reconstructing the operation of the Bolivian security forces that killed three members of the Flores group.
Bernardo Montenegro and Pablo Banegas were members of Bolivian Parliamentary Committee that investigated the circumstances of the Flores incident and interviewed Előd Tóásó several times.
The delegation advised to the Hungarian government to keep the issue atop the agenda and do everything possible to help the investigation.
Bernardo Montenegro and Pablo Banegas raised the possibility of setting up an independent investigation panel with international experts included.
