György Budaházy, the jailed patriot, will run as an independent in the national election, in April said Krisztina Morvai, after the Budáhazy's trial ended in a Budapest courthouse; the judge found Budaházy guilty of removing the red star from the communist monument built by the Kadar regime fifty years ago.
Budaházy is still in jail, but according to the law, contenders are covered by the provision of immunity section inscribed into the constitution requiring authorities to suspended court proceedings against candidates.
According to Morvai, Budaházy is a national treasure and his participation in national politics would be beneficial for the entire country.
Let's see what the court will do. They have to act quickly.
