The gypsies arrived in town to settle issues with another gang; however, the rival gang didn't show up and the gypsies of Enying went to the Patriota disco to celebrate. They picked on Cozma because he was sticking out of the crowed by his size; they attacked him on the dance floor and in the fight, Sándor Raffael stabbed Cozma, the first time. Cozma fled but the gypsies caught up with him, on the street and Sándor Raffael stabbed him, the second time; this time, in his heart that proved to be fatal. This was the time when Zarko Sesum and Ivan Pesics got injured as they tried to aid the bleeding Cozma.
Right after the murder, Sándor Raffael and Győző Németh, the two main culprits, traveled to Budapest and stayed in a small apartment. The next morning Sándor Raffael’s head wounds that he received during the fight, had been treated by a health professional in a private hospital.
The following day, the two criminals received a car from an accomplice to flee to Austria. An aid drove in front of Raffael’s car to detect police presence on the highway. However, Austrian police captured them both, without incident.
According to Péter Pogány, the chief investigator of the case, none of the criminals showed remorse regarding the murder.
