Tuesday, April 20, 2010

HVIM is expanding its endeavour in the coming years to include children activities in its programs. The organization has just started the Academy of National Resistance lecture series in January providing tips and tricks for members of the opposition when dealing with government institutions.

For the first time, this year HVIM is organizing a summer camp for children in the picturesque village of Szarvaskő, which is close to the city of Eger.

The summer camp is designed to educate children about the culture and the history of the country. The various activities include introduction into the art of wood, metal, bone and leather crafts. There will be “rovásirás” (cuneiform alphabet) courses, archery and horseback riding programs. Children will learn about plants, the natural environment of the country, as well as the symbolism and imagery of historical events. They will listen lectures about the true history of the country and attend film screenings, competitions and of course, there will be bonfire and music performances where children can meet members of famous rock bands.

The camp operates, June 27th to July 4th, 2010; it costs 26000 forints (about $130).
For 2 children, 20000 forints per child and for 3 children, the third can attend for free.
Cost includes transportation, accommodation and four meals a day.
Children will sleep in Yurts.
Children of 10 -14 years of age can attend. For more information telephone to +36/20/583-3892, or write to: tabor@hvim.hu
