Covert "whispering propaganda campaign" against Gábor Vona

Monday, March 8, 2010

The desperation of the Fidesz – MSZP coalition manifests itself in the recent Internet campaign against Gábor Vona, Jobbik's prime ministerial candidate. Agents of the opposition started an Internet campaign accusing the chief of Jobbik with adultery.

This is not the first time that Jobbik candidates became targets of smear campaign. The last year, just before the EP election, similar messages popped up on the Internet accusing Krisztina Morvai with pedophilia.

There is nothing new about these attacks. Gábor Vona has already been accused of being a sephardic Jew, a gypsy, a homosexual and now comes adultery. He and his party have been also accused of accepting money from Russian backers. None of these rumours had an effect on Jobbik's popularity. We can safely say this recent one won't have either.

Előd Novák, the vice-president of Jobbik said any portal that publishes these rumours, or associates itself with the Internet links where these rumours are being disseminated, can expect a lawsuit.
