The first National Equestrian Meetings called “ Nyeregszemle” was held this weekend in the National Historical Memorial Park of Ópusztaszer. The event hosted more than 240 horses and 450 horseback riders from different parts of the Carpathian Basin. The Székely riders for instance, left Csíkcsicsó on June 25 riding seven hundred kilometers to arrive Ópusztaszer for the Friday opening session. The programs, among others, included renaissance jousting, horse training and horseback archery. There were lectures, discussion of the new national equestrian program, falconry training and techniques, concerts and dance exhibitions.
