The poll that was conducted in late February 2012 by "Századvég" shows that the trend in political activity stopped declining in recent months. The trend indicates that party support on both the government and the opposition sides stabilized. The governing parties continue to keep their leading position among both decided and undecided voters.
At the end of February 49 percent of the voting age population said that they definitely would participate in a parliamentary election to be held this Sunday. The rate of uncertain voters also declined in February, currently 36 percent of respondents belong to this group.
In late February the relative strengths of the parties do not show major change. The Fidesz-KDNP coalition support in the total population is 27 percent, the socialists has 15 percent support, the patriotic Jobbik party has 11 percent and the extremist liberal party LMP has 6 percent support. The Gyurcsany led Democratic Coalition is supported by 2 percent of the population.
Among decided voters, Fidesz support is 45 percent followed by the socialists with 24 percent, Jobbik 19 percent, LMP 7 percent and the Gyurcsany led Democratic Coalition 3 percent support.

By supporting Jobbik's proposal, “Szigethalom” municipal council declared three socialist traitors – MEP Kinga Goncz, MEP Csaba Tabajdi and EU Commissioner László Andor – as undesirable persons on February 23, 2012 forbidding all three individuals to enter the municipality.
Szigethalom representative body voted 8 in favor and 2 against the motion.
Although no such legal category exists in Hungarian law (yet), we felt it was our duty to make this symbolic gesture. We encourage all Jobbik led municipal bodies to follow the example of Szigethalom municipal council and declare the traitors undesirable in their municipalities says the statement issued by Jobbik's Szigethalom branch.

The Olympic and world champion kayaker was born on February 29 1976, and due to this unique circumstance, she celebrates her birthday every four years.
Before leaving for a training camp in Turkey on Tuesday, her friends taken the opportunity and threw a party at her. She has received a delicious chocolate cake with the number nine on the top indicating that she was only nine years old according to leap year calculations.
The cake with the number nine was a good joke on the part of my friends, but of course, I'm much older than that despite the fact that I have celebrated my real birthday only nine times in my life said the 31 time world championship kayaker.
I was a little bit disturbed as a child because of the rarity of my birthday, but as an adult I see the good part of it, as some of my friends greet me on February 28, others on March 1, so I get birthday greetings for two whole days.
Tuesday, Kovács flew to Antalya, Turkey where the weather wasn't that kind to her -- despite the warm weather rain was coming down all day long so she had to stay in the gym for the entire day.

Russian and Ukrainian security services have averted a plot to assassinate Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and carry out a series of attacks throughout Russia. Two suspects, who have been on an international wanted list, were detained in the Ukrainian port of Odessa about a month ago. The detainees testified that the assassination attempt on Putin was to happen shortly after the March 4 presidential vote.
A report on plotted attacks was aired on Russia’s state-owned Channel One TV. Ukrainian security services and Mr. Putin`s press service confirmed that the report was correct. Two suspects, Ilya Pyanzin and Ruslan Madayev, said they had arrived in Odessa from the United Arab Emirates. Pyanzin said that they had been hired by Chechen militant leader Doku Umarov.
"We were told to first travel to Odessa to learn how to make bombs and later go to Moscow to carry out attacks on economically vital objects before assassinating Putin. When we arrived in Odessa, Ruslan was told a telephone number of a man who was supposed to meet us here."
When the suspects were learning how to make bombs, Ruslan Madayev died in an accidental explosion. Ukrainian ‘fixer’ escaped before a fire brigade arrived at the scene. Pyanzin was hospitalized with burns. He later admitted that there was also a third plotter, Adam Osmayev. He was detained on February 4, but Ukrainian security services have been keeping his arrest a secret until now. Details of the plot were found on Osmayev`s laptop, a source in the Ukrainian security services said.
"There were videos showing motorcades carrying different officials, including Putin. The suspects thus had an opportunity to study thoroughly the way an official is guarded."
Osmayev said that most attacks were supposed to be carried out using remote controlled explosives, and also a suicide bomber. The suspect said that the whole operation had entered its final stage.
"There are certain types of land mines which can be used in such attacks, not necessarily a suicide bomber. I would not become a suicide bomber. But Madayev said he was ready to blow himself up. A deadline for the assassination was set for the first days after the March 4 presidential vote."
Osmayev was said to be collaborative during an investigation. He admitted that part of the explosives had been delivered to Moscow, and one of the attacks was supposed to take place on Kutuzovsky Avenue, used by Russian president and prime minister on a daily basis.
No further details will be disclosed while the investigation is under way. Nevertheless, Ukrainian and Russian security services have obviously done a good job by averting the assassination plot and making the suspects testify.
It was also reported that another assassination attempt on Vladimir Putin was foiled during his presidency: four Chechens were supposed to attack him during the CIS summit in Yalta in August of 2000. In all, more than 10 assassination plots against Putin, most of them fake, were reported during his two presidential terms.

Mr. prime minister (after Orban Viktor has spoken),
The Hungarian voters have given you a 2/3 majority in your national parliament and this to great disapproval of the left-wing politicians whom are now trying to win the political debate in Hungary through the EU-parliament. Your people has fought bravely against communist oppression to come to the conclusion now that the Brezhnev-doctrine still lives on under the form of EU-meddling against member states who are willing to use their sovereignty to work out a national policy.
Many interventions in the debates here today were not only hysterical but also hypocritical. What to think of liberal fraction leader, Mr. Verhofstadt, who lectures you about democratic rights, while under his government, when he was Belgium’s prime minister, the biggest Flemish party Vlaams Blok was outlawed, purely due to the political views they defended. Nowhere else in the EU has something like that happened! And no one in the EU- parliament or EU-commission saw any problems with it! In other words, this is the same old story of the use of double standards by the left side which weighs so heavily on the credibility of this EU- parliament.
I thank you.
The prime minister said he would like to see the remembrance of the victims of communism become part of public consciousness; then he said “I come here every year so that my children could follow my example”.

Quote of the day: Mária Wittner spoke at the Victims of Communism Memorial Day ceremony in Somogy county
“Now that Viktor Orbán and his government want to lift the country, satanic forces closed ranks; but because they are weak to regain power alone, they called upon the help of the West and the global financial elite that want to swallow us up”.
The 1956 struggle is not over yet "we do not want to be the citizens of the world but we want to live in our own country” said Mária Wittner.
Mária Wittner was sentenced to death in 1956, but her conviction was later commuted to life imprisonment. She was the special guest of the Victims of Communism Memorial Day ceremony in Somogy county.
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate - the G20 meeting began this morning in Riyadh with this prayer then quotes have been read out from the Koran. The speakers of parliaments of the world's leading economies started a two-day meeting in the Saudi capital of Riyadh that attended by László Kövér the speaker of the Hungarian parliament at the invitation of the chairman of the Shura Council, Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh.
Kövér was greeted at the Riyadh airport yesterday by Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh personally and as a result the first bilateral meeting between Saudi officials and the Hungarian delegation have taken place. The Sura Council leader expressed his appreciation of Hungary's efforts to retain its own traditions and strengthen the country's moral standards, which are very important issues for both countries. Kövér pointed out that tradition and modernity are not mutually exclusive concepts; he believes that the primary cause of the current financial and economic crisis can be tracked down in the erosion of moral values.
In a speech at the G-20 meeting "Cultural Dialogue in the World" panel discussion this morning, Kövér pointed out that "Young people respond the fastest to contemporary political, social and economic challenges; if we can't set meaningful goals before them, if they can't find valuable social space in their environment, then they become dissatisfied and leave their communities.".
During the day, Kövér held bilateral talks with the Speaker of the Parliament of Turkey Cemil Çiçek and the Speaker of the Canadian Senate, Noel A. Kinsella. During the meeting, the head of the Canadian Senate raised the issue of Hungarian gypsies mass emigration to Canada. Hungarians across the country are remembering the victims of communism on February 25 that the parliament adopted as the official day of remembrance. In less than 100 years, communism has claimed more than 100 million lives worldwide.
The official ceremony is held on February 25 at the House of Terror Museum on Andrássy street starting at 10 am. Organizers are inviting all Hungarians to come to the commemoration service and light a candle in memory of the victims of communism.
There will commemoration services in most major cities across the country starting Friday.
On Friday, February 24, Jobbik unveiled a memorial monument at the corner of “József” boulevard and “Krúdy Gyula” street in the eight district.
The ceremony has been attended by about 500 hundred people who lit candles and placed flowers at the monument as a show of tribute to the victims of communism.
The commemoration service attended by the leaders of Jobbik including Gábor Vona, Levente Murányi and György Szilágyi.
In a speech, György Szilágyi made it clear that there won't be any reconciliation with those who are the moral, intellectual and ideological descendants of the sick Bolshevik monsters who beat to death hundreds of innocent people in the “Recsk” concentration camp during the darkest days of communism. He added that Jobbik will never cooperate with treasonous politicians who are doing their best to drive a wedge between Hungarians for electoral benefits.
Jobbik vice-president and the hero of the 1956 revolution, Levente Murányi said communism had existed before fascism and Nazism and, unfortunately, survived them. The communist ideology spread to the four corners of the world and claimed at least one hundred million lives worldwide. Murányi then added that in the place where he was standing, in 1956 a Soviet tank was firing at the revolutionaries until rebels took tank out.
The communist ideology reared it ugly head in Hungary at the beginning of the twentieth century, but then the leaders of the time didn't take it seriously. In 1908, the Galileo Circle was founded by free-thinkers, which had only one ethnic Hungarian member, Mihály Karolyi. In 1919, Karolyi helped Béla Kun and his ilks into power who in turn unleashed a murderous rampage that lasted 133 days.
The Bolshevik vampires returned again in 1944, in the incarnations of “Rákosi”, “Gerő” and “Farkas”, just mentioning the worst scoundrels, as “liberators”. This was the time of expulsions and deportations; later the AVO (a bunch of sadists served under the interior ministry, a true terrorist organization) in a much more organized fashion, under the treacherous Janos Kadar, continued terrorizing Hungarians. In 1956, the country rebelled against the Bolshevik butchers and on October 23 the communists were driven from power. Freedom lasted only a short time as the Soviet Army invaded the country once again on November 4 and the Bolsheviks returned to power. But by then the Soviet empire got a wound that ultimately led to its demise concluded his speech Levente Murányi.
After the speech, Levente Murányi and Gábor Vona jointly unveiled the memorial, the work of wood carver István Balázs from Kárpátalja.

Europe's most comprehensive political reform has been implemented in Hungary since the 2010 national election said PM Orbán in a speech he has delivered in the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry headquarters in Frankfurt.
Hungary is stable, the national debt is decreasing and the budget is under control. The PM confirmed that the government will keep the deficit below the 3 percent level in 2013.
The prime minister remarked that after winning the national election in 2010, he foresaw all the international attacks that have been happening right now; there is one thing that he didn't anticipate, the deepening European economic crisis. "I would have never thought that the European bureaucrats so clumsily mishandling the economic crisis as they are doing it right now". In Orbán's opinion, the international attacks on Hungary tells a lot about the continent and show the weak points of Europe's political and economic structure.
Responding to a question about the European criticism of Hungary the prime minister said: the current mainstream opinion in Europe holds that concepts like religion, family and nation are the things of the past. But he does not agree with this assessment; he considers religious beliefs, family and patriotism as respectable values of the future. He said it would be nice if Europeans recognize that the international attacks against Hungary is their issue as well.
"For those who are running on thin ice, the speed is the security. Running on thin ice, I am pleased to report that I've reached the other side of the river"- said the prime minister about the speed of changes taking place in Hungary. Then, he added Hungary needs two things: a financial safety net and productive investments.
During his speech, members of a German globalist fringe party demonstrated in front of the Chamber of Commerce building expressing their opposition to the Orbán cabinet policies especially to the imaginary anti-Roma policies of the Fidesz government.
Hungarians in Germany wanted to stage a sympathy demonstration during Orbán's speech, but German police rejected their application. Hungarians who were at the Chamber of Commerce building said that they supported the Orbán government all the way and found the attacks on Hungary particularly repulsive.
Regarding the globalist demonstration, the prime minister remarked in a somewhat ironic fashion that it is rare that one has been greeted by music (the globalists started singing the communist anthem on his arrival to the Chamber of Commerce building). "I thought, what a great thing when history entertains us: I, who is an anti-communist and got into politics because I fought for freedom had to come to Germany to see communists demonstrating against me”.

Jobbik agrees with peace march organizers' statement that under the current conditions, we have to start thinking about our withdrawal from the European Union. The European Commission yesterday's decision showed black and white how much rights our country will have in the European Union, when it adopts the new financial pact. The last month, hundreds of thousands of peace marchers gathered in Budapest under the slogan “We will not be a colony!", but now the EU wants to make us a colony says Márton Gyöngyösi's statement.
We ask peace march organizers to support Jobbik's initiative on our membership in the EU as the population didn't receive relevant information about the consequences of our membership in 2003; since then, the situation has been deteriorated to the point where Hungary has been assigned a colonial status and the country has become a captive nation.
It is clear that Hungarian national interests, both economically and morally, are increasingly distant from that of the "United States of Europe" that gradually eliminates all forms of national self-determination.
It appears that peace march organizers have already raised those questions that Jobbik has long been treated as evidence: how long the European Union can sanction and oppress Hungarians without impunity, and how long our country will subject itself to the morally and economically disintegrating European Union?
The only credible solution would be if society as a whole could decide on this serious and fateful issue. The peace march has shown the power of civil society, so we ask them not to stop half way. Let the people decide: the question is “are we remaining members or break free?” concluded his statement the deputy leader of Jobbik, Márton Gyöngyösi.

The memory goes back to those days of November 1956, when Carl Gustaf Ströhm, our friend who died in 2004, then working as a young reporter in Hungary, reported on a daily basis on the phone to our group in Tübingen, about the Soviet invasion of Hungary.
Hungary at that time used to be the vanguard in the fight against the Soviet Union in Eastern Europe, which was followed later by the Poles and Czechs. In 1989 it was again Hungary that made the first cut through the barbed wire of the Iron Curtain - as an overture of the coming fall of the Soviet system.
Even now it is again the majority of this proud nation that rebel against the pretensions of Brussels hierarchy, controlled by financial interest groups who want to impose their liberal-left "anti-fascist" ideas of democracy as the only valid and binding system. (…)
The Orban government represents the traditions of its country, which are also the best traditions of Europe. The government's non-traditional way of conducting business conflicts with the prevailing Eu's ideas that blind the rulers of Brussels: Reason enough to send our solidarity to the people of the Crown of St. Stephen, in regard of the common European history and the memories of 1956 and 1989 ".

Chief Justice Péter Polt dismissed Zsolt Falvai as the head of Budapest Prosecutor's Office without giving any reason for his dismissal. Falvai was the prosecutor in the Képiró trial accusing the 97 year old Képiró with crimes against humanity. The court cleared the accused of all charges, but due to years of harassment the elderly man's health deteriorated to the point that soon after his acquittal he passed away.
Falvai brought charges against Képiró without questioning the “evidence” supplied by the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Jerusalem that accused Képiró of committing crimes against Jews in 1942 as the captain of the gendarmerie.
Meanwhile, it turned out that there was a very cozy relationship between the prosecutor and the head of the Wiesenthal Center (Képiró's lawyer remarked several times during the trial that the head of the Wiesenthal Center, Efraim Zuroff being a regular guest in the prosecutor's office). The head of the Wiesenthal Center admitted that he had learned from Falvai before even the official verdict was handed down that the decision would appealed.
Falvai also played a dubious role in the 2006 court proceedings against police officers who committed atrocities during the 2006 disturbances. Under his leadership the court was barely able to identify policemen who took part in the atrocities.

MKB Bank analyst, Zsolt Kondrát believes that the probability of freezing the cohesion funds to Hungary is low -- the threat probably won't be implemented. It was issued to force Hungary to sign a loan agreement with IMF.
According to the MKB Bank analyst, freezing funds wouldn't have too much direct impact on Hungarian economy. He explained that these sorts of fund applications take a long time to be assessed before any amount of money is paid.
The EU wants to freeze the funds starting in January 2013, which will have a very delayed effect. This is not like suddenly freezing a large amount of money to the country said the economist.
The short-term economic impact will be clearly negative – there will be less investment; but in the medium term may not be enough to harm economic prospects, because not only Hungary, but other countries too are doubting the effectiveness of these EU-funded projects.
The analyst said the negative impact of freezing funds wouldn't have financial impact but the message behind it that would hurt – it would indicate that there is no agreement with the IMF. In a situation like this, exchange rate depreciation, increase yields and lower economic growth is waiting for Hungary.
On Wednesday, the European Commission proposed the suspension of 495 million cohesion funds to Hungary effective in January 2013, because the country has allegedly failed to fulfill its obligation of deficit reduction. The panel's proposal still should be approved by the finance ministers of the EU member states.

The Parliament's press service reported on Wednesday that László Kövér meets the President of the Federal National Council, Mohammad Ahmad Al-Murr in Dubai on February 23, and holds talks with the leaders of the Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the meetings in both countries is to improve bilateral economic relations.
The speaker of parliament attends the G-20 countries parliament presidents meeting on February 24 – 26 in Riyadh at the invitation of Abdullah Alsheikh, the Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council. Given the fact that Hungary is not a member of the world's strongest economies of the G20 umbrella group, Kövér's invitation is a significant gesture and a value of political significance says the parliament's press communique. This is the first time that the speaker of the Hungarian parliament has been invited to participate in this forum.
The International Parliamentary Conference's agenda includes three topics: global inter-cultural dialogue, energy for sustainable development, as well as the financial crisis and its impact on the global economy. Kövér indicated that he intends to address in all three topics to clarify the Hungarian position in each topic.
The speaker of the parliament will be accompanied by Antal Rogán, Economic and IT Committee chairman, who holds talks with members of the Shura Council in economic, financial and information technology related issues.

The European Commission's Wednesday decision to suspend cohesion funds to Hungary is a very severe and harsh humiliation of the country said Gábor Vona on a press conference in Budapest where he recommended a five-party consultation on the country's EU membership.
The time has come for the prime minister to call a meeting of the five parliamentary party leaders to discuss Hungary's place and role in the future of the European Union.
Gábor Vona emphasized that Hungarian society didn't vote on the current European Union in 2004, therefore, Jobbik still insists on a referendum on the country's EU membership. According to Vona, the European Commission's Wednesday decision is unacceptable because in recent years Hungarian society has already sacrificed more than its capacity to maintain a balanced budget.
The European Commission has decided on Wednesday's meeting to recommend the suspension of 495 million Euro cohesion funds to Hungary because allegedly, the country has failed to fulfill its obligations of deficit reduction. The panel's proposal still has to be approved by the finance ministers of EU member states.

The highlights of the speech in telegraphic style
I do not want to induce anger but Hungary is in trouble, more trouble than anytime in the past twenty years.
Twenty years ago, Hungarians wanted democracy, but in 1992 István Csurka appeared on the scene to show what nationalism is all about.
Republicans today are a minority.
Twenty years ago all of us agreed that Hungary's ship should sail towards the West -- Paris, Berlin and Rome. In 1990, we thought that we have created a new democratic society and a constitution that is acceptable to all. We thought that freedom was a good idea and society should be organized around this doctrine.
Now, however, the pillars of the republic have collapsed and an anti-Hungarian system has been built in its place that rejects the idea of Europe and considers Brussels as a threat. This system is afraid of freedom, foreign market competition and criminalizing poverty.
The Orbán government can be defeated.
We should investigate why is this happening to us and how to re-unite society in the name of the Republic.
The Orbán government's ambition is to change the system rather than the government. This already has happened. Besides the economic policy, the Orbán government are changing the country's self-image and culture as well.
The Orbán government has been focusing on national sovereignty, but the modern world is about cooperation. The Hungarian Prime Minister has reduced the country's room for maneuver. He has created a sad rather than a happy barrack. He lost his friends in Europe and failed to find new ones in Asia.
The Hungarian industry has changed, we like it or not, this is a fact; therefore Hungary's interest is to attract foreign investors.
We know that the Roma's culture are very different from ours and the Roma have different relationship to agricultural work, but in other areas they are just as good as we are.
There are eight hundred thousand Roma who feel miserable, because the country's other half sees only a problem with them. Those who meet the easy part of life, have an obligation to help the Roma concluded his one hour speech the dedicated agent of the global cabal.

The goal is to remember, but also to send a message: Hungarians are still alive! The grand opening ceremony of the genocide memorial will be held on April 1st – at the anniversary of the 1941 return of “Délvidék” to the motherland. The same day a cornerstone is laid for the museum that is planned near the monument and will be housing the Hungarian Genocide Center.
The Sixty Four County Youth Movement can't accept the fact that when the topic of genocide comes up in everyday conversations everyone thinks of the Holocaust but nobody remembers the genocide that has been committed against Hungarians throughout the centuries in the Carpathian Basin said László Toroczkai, the president of HVIM. The time has come to remind the younger generations of the sufferings that Hungarians endured throughout the centuries. The monument like an exclamation-mark will remind those who have committed the horrors and their descendants of their actions. The monument will be erected at the Hungarian-Serbian international border crossing near the M5 motorway. At this border crossing about 2.5 million people enter and leave Hungary each year.
The monument will be visible to all visitors who are crossing the Hungarian-Serbian border regardless, that they want to see it or not. The new genocide center will be built on the Hungarian side of the border on a private property, so that neither Serbian nor Hungarian authorities can thwart the project.
The memorial will be a seven-meter high structure, the work of sculptor Klára Tóbiás; it depicts a “Turul” (falcon) flies out of a barbed wire bird nest holding a sword in its beak.
Besides, the “Délvidék” massacre where 40 thousand Hungarians were slaughtered by Yugoslav partisans after the second world war, the center will commemorate to all Hungarian victims of genocide said Toroczkai.
HVIM is asking everyone who has authentic information and artifacts about the “Délvidék” massacre contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are also welcoming suggestions and ideas about naming the facility, which is temporarily called Hungarian Genocide Center said Toroczkai.
Of course, we also need support; donations can be sent to HVIM bank account: 10102842-08769400-01003004
One percent of personal income tax can also be offered for the project (tax ID number: 18467626-1-06).
