Police in hot pursuit of a hen thief

Saturday, February 16, 2013

An old woman of Ároktő called police in the early morning hours complaining about the disappearance of her eight hens.

Police officers rushed to the scene and found footprints in the mud; by following them they have identified the house of the hen thief. Inside, they apprehended a 30 year-old gypsy who is suspected of stealing the hens – he tried to hide them in a disused sewer. After an extensive search of the property, police have found only one hen unharmed, the rest, according to the thief, ran away from him while tried to lock them in the sewer (probably, he has already slaughtered them ed.).

While searching the property, police have also found a fireplace and other stolen items. Unfortunately, police recovered only one hen, which was returned to its rightful owner.

A 30-year old local gypsy was taken into custody and charged with theft and burglary.

(Notes: There is no need to be overly enthusiastic about the quick police action. There is a 99 % chance that the privileged minority will be freed by the complicit court in a matter of days so that he can continue his criminal activities at the expense of the most defenseless segment of society.)
