Teakwondoka Ivett Gonda wins first place in 53 kg at Dutch Open in Eindhoven

After defeating a Croatian, an Irish and an Argentinean opponent Ivett advanced into the semi-finals where she defeated French teakwondoka Floriane Liborio (3:2).

In the final, Ivett defeated three-time Pan-American champion Yeny Contreras of Chile and won the race in her weight class.

26 year-old Ivett Gonda was born in Jászberény, Hungary; she was 4 years old when her parents moved to Canada. Up until now, she competed for Canada and participated in two Olympics representing Canada.

But this year, after obtaining the Hungarian passport, she switched country and will represent Hungary in future international competitions.
