A Vietnamese sport delegation led by the head of the country's Olympic Committee arrived in Hungary on Wednesday to find out why Hungarians are so successful in sports.
The Vietnamese delegation met István Simicskó, the Secretary of State responsible for sports to discuss the possibility of organizing joint training camps among Hungarian and Vietnamese athletes; the two sides also discussed the possibility of organizing tournaments and joint training sessions for sports professionals.
"More and more foreigners noticing Hungary's outstanding achievements in the field of sports -- Hungarian athletes won 167 gold medals in Olympic games. We are willing to share at least part of the secret" said Simicskó.
The Hungarian politician said the Vietnamese delegation was interested in studying methods of teaching physical education in Hungary; the two sides discussed the possibility of allowing Vietnamese students into specialized training programs at Semmelweis University Faculty of Physical Education and Sports.
The Secretary of State pointed out that Minister of Human Resources Zoltán Balog recently visited Vietnam and in September the president of Vietnam arrives in Hungary at the invitation of Hungarian President Áder János, which provides further possibilities to discuss sports related issues .
The Vuong Bich Thang led Vietnamese delegation remains in Hungary until Sunday. During their stay members of the delegation visit the Tata Training Camp, the Semmelweis University, they meet the heads of the Hungarian Canoe Federation and the Hungarian Olympic Committee.
On Thursday, the head of the Hungarian Olympic Committee Zsolt Borkai and the head of the Vietnamese delegation Vuong Bich Thang sign a cooperation agreement between the two organizations.
