Friends remembered Péter Kiss (26), the other Hungarian mountaineer who disappeared on the summit of Kangchenjunga

Friends, acquaintances and admirers remembered Péter Kiss (26) in his hometown Gyöngyös with candles and flowers on Saturday. The exceptional young man practically sacrificed himself when he stopped his descent from Kangchenjunga mountain while still navigating in the “death zone” to help his exhausted partner Zsolt Erőss while himself struggling with extreme exhaustion, writes the spokesman of the Kangchenjunga expedition.

He was the first Hungarian who reached all four thousand meter high peaks of the Alps and conquered Kangchenjunga the world's third highest mountain writes the Kangchenjunga expedition's website. They reached the peak with Zsolt Erőss, but they disappeared while descending from the summit never reaching the base camp.

Péter Kiss, disappeared on May 22, with his partner Zsolt Erőss somewhere at 8000 meters altitude while descending from Kangchenjunga the world's third highest mountain.
