The 23rd “Csűrdöngölő” Hargita County Children and Youth Folk Dance Festival began at 10 o'clock Thursday morning and went on until late afternoon. Forty-five groups, and more than 1,000 children participated in the event. The festival, which is part of the fourth “Székelyföld” Days program series organized by Hargita County Council, Hargita County Cultural Center, the Hargita National Székely Folk Ensemble and the András Foundation.
The purpose of the event was to provide opportunity to the various dance groups to meet each other and encourage each other to become folk dancers. During the festival, children could also take live dance training courses in Hargita County Council's building organized by the municipality.
