Hungary joins the European Space Agency

The government instructed National Development Minister Zsuzsanna Németh to inform the European Space Agency (ESA) about Hungary's intention to start accession negotiations for full membership with the organization. The minister was also called on to assess the financial and administrative costs for the full-fledged membership.

The national development minister have to assess and evaluate the effects of the membership on the national economy until October 31.

The government's decision was inspired by growing economic opportunities in the space industry and the increasing international cooperation in space activities.
