Tuesday, July 23, 2013

At a press-conference in Budapest Jobbik MP György Szilágyi said Serbian authorities detained and robbed Hungarian football fans that traveled to the Vojvodina vs “Budapest Honvéd” international football match last Wednesday.

The press conference has been attended by János Kiss, one of the honorary fans of the “Budapest Honvéd” football club, who also attended the trip last Wednesday.

At the Hungarian-Serbian border Serbian officers ordered the bus to park several hours in the blazing sun, then ordered passengers to get off the bus; upon which Serbian officers search the bus in the meantime, stolen fans' personal items left in the vehicle including their cash and cameras.

After that they could continue to travel to Ujvidek under Serbian police guard that forbidden the bus to stop at the resting area to allow fans to go to the washroom.

According to Jobbik MP György Szilágyi, this was a serious atrocity committed against Hungarian football fans that also included children by Serbian authorities; but "more serious and alarming" is the fact that neither the “Budapest Honvéd” football club nor the Hungarian Football Federation nor the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a protest note on the matter.
