Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang is scheduled to arrive in Hungary on September 15 said the ministry of foreign affairs.

During his three days state visit, Truong Tan Sang and his Hungarian counterpart sign an inter-governmental agreement expanding nuclear training between the two countries said the ministry of foreign affairs.

In preparation for the visit, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Zsolt Németh and Deputy State Secretary Péter Wintermantel met Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son on August 13.

The two sides agreed that due to the scholarship programs during the communist era, Vietnam has become the home to the largest Hungarian speaking non-Hungarian community in world. Earlier, Hungarian officials indicated that Hungary expands the scholarship program for Vietnamese university students encouraging them to pursue their education in Hungary.

„Expanding bilateral ties with traditional partners in Asia is part of the Hungarian Government’s Eastern partnership policy,” said the statement issued by the ministry of foreign affairs. Bilateral trade between Hungary and Vietnam increased by 8 percent last year approaching to $90 million says the statement.
