State Secretary Péter Szijjártó discusses trade opportunities with his Brazilian counterpart in Budapest

State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó met his Brazilian counterpart Hadil Fontes da Rocha Vianna in Budapest on Monday.

Building ties with fast-developing regions of the world including South America is a top priority for the Hungarian Government Szijjártó’s press chief said following the meeting. Trade turnover between the two countries has increased by 75 percent in the past three years. Hungarian trade with Brazil focusing on the fields of food, textiles and vehicle production.

The two parties have agreed to jointly work out an action plan to remove the red tape hindering further development of bilateral trade, as well as to increase the number of Brazilian students attending Hungarian universities.
