Marchers carrying a gigantic Székely flag

Proclamation for the autonomy of Székely Land

In the manifesto participants of the Székely march confirmed that they want to exercise their right of self-determination and self-governance. The manifesto was signed by the chairman of the Székely National Council Izsák Balázs.

The manifesto reminds the Romanian government not to downplay the prospect of dialogue with the Székely people because neither the ongoing persecution of Székely symbols nor indifference towards the wishes of the inhabitants of the land will stop the struggle for autonomy.

"Either Romanian officials start a meaningful dialogue with representatives of the Székely people regarding self-determination, and the future of Székely Land, or protests will multiply and intensify in the future, which include civil disobedience as well" says the proclamation.
