This year's winter solstice celebration will be held in Holló valley, Budakalász

The Hungarian Turan Alliance will hold its traditional winter solstice (Karacsun) celebration on December 21, 2013. This year, the celebration will be held in Holló valley, Budakalász.

Earlier, winter solstice celebrations were held in secluded mountains locations, in small communities but this year, it will be held in an easy to reach location therefore, the Hungarian Turan Alliance calls on all Hungarians to join the celebration.


Those decide to participate expect to stay up until dawn during the longest night of the year. The vigil will be accompanied by festive programs.

In the dead of winter heated yurts are awaiting for participants, and Csaba Nyers will cook delicious dishes invoking the ancient Hungarian past.
