Dmitry Medvedev: What Americans are doing is insane

Monday, February 24, 2014

There are serious concerns about the legitimacy of the new Ukrainian government that the West has approved in no time said Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

The West has recognized the armed rebellion in record time; but this government can be called neither legitimate nor democratic therefore, Moscow thus relates to the new situation said the Russian prime minister.

"Virtually no one in the country with whom we can negotiate. All newly appointed public bodies have legitimacy problems" said Medvedev.

"Some of our partners in the west think differently. I do not know what kind of Constitution  they have read, but when someone calls an armed uprising legitimate that is the sign of insanity," said the Russian prime minister.

In the mean time Russian troops have landed in the Ukrainian city of Sevastopol. The news was confirmed by Ukrainian MP Yuri Lucenko as well; several sources reported seeing Russian armored vehicles in and around the city.

According to latest news, President Yanukovych fled to a Russian Marine Corps base near Sevastopol.
