Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó met Kung Huj-hung, China's Eximbank Central Europe Director and Chinese Ministry of Finance officials in Budapest today.

The two sides discussed Chinese involvement in the construction of the Budapest-Belgrade railway line that the prime ministers of China, Hungary, and Serbia agreed on during China and 16 Central and Eastern European countries summit last November in Romania.

The heads of the two delegation also reviewed agreements the Chinese and the Hungarian prime ministers hammered out during Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's last week Beijing visit; special attention was being paid to the issue of credit details regarding the construction of the 374 km Budapest-Belgrade railway line, which cost about $ 3 billion said the state secretary after the meeting.
