Approximately, three hundred people demonstrated at the Hungarian foreign ministry Friday night demanding autonomy for Transcarpathia (Kárpátalja).

Demonstrators arrived to the scene with large banners with messages such as "Self-determination for Transcarpathia" and "Hungary wants Transcarpathia back".

Organizer of the event Jobbik MP Tamás Gaudi-Nagy, among other things, said returning of Transcarpathia to Hungary would be a historical justice. He also said Foreign Minister János Martonyi had to resign because he didn't represent Hungarian national interests and the rights of the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia.

MEP Krisztina Morvai and Gyula György Zagyva, the head of the Sixty-four Counties Youth Movement emphasized that the Hungarian foreign ministry haven't taken advantage of the historical opportunity; it slavishly follows the instructions of the globalist overlords rather than represent Hungarian interests.

At the end of the demonstration, organizers handed over an eight-point petition to foreign ministry staff. The petition among other things, says: the Hungarian government should recognize the results of the referendum in Crimea, namely, that the peninsula returned to Russia. They demanded to put the Hungarian Defense Forces in high alert to be able to defend Transcarpathian Hungarians if need be; protesters also asked Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to fire Foreign Mister János Martonyi for mishandling of the Ukrainian situation.
