Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, met the vice-President of the Hungarian Cultural Federation in Transcarpathia (KMKSZ) László Brenzovics in the parliament in Budapest on Wednesday; the meeting also attended by Foreign Minister János Martonyi.
The vice-President of the Hungarian Cultural Federation informed the prime minister about the unfolding situation in the region of Transcarpathia; he thanked the government for paying attention to what's happening in the region where most of Ukraine's ethnic Hungarians live.
Brenzovics was pleased that among the European Foreign Ministers only Hungarian Foreign Minister János Martonyi visited the region; he also praised Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Zsolt Németh for visiting the area.
PM Viktor Orbán and László Brenzovics agreed that in the current crisis the most important issues is the safety of the Hungarian minority. The parties also expressed their interest in Ukraine's European integration where national minorities, including the Hungarian minority can enjoy extensive rights. They pointed out that this is a condition for supporting Ukraine's integration in the European structure reported the Prime Minister's Press Office .
