Russia and Argentina are ready to sign an agreement on establishing a Russian military base in the South-American country

Tuesday, March 25, 2014

While the west was preoccupied with the Ukrainian political crisis and the annexation of Crimea by Russia, Argentina and Russia worked out an agreement on establishing a Russian military base in the South-American country.

This is the first step in a series of measures to increase Russian military presence in the southern hemisphere worked out by President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Sergei Sojgu.

The United States has never had proper missile defense deployed to protect the country from a southern invasion; the Russian military base in Argentina forces the U.S. to increase its military budget in a time when its reduction has already been decided on.
