Chinese province introduces experimental Kung-fu education in elementary and secondary schools

Jiangsu province with the population of 79 million introduced Kung-fu training in the curriculum of elementary and secondary schools.

For the time being, this unique Chinese martial arts will be thought on an experimental basis. The goal is to promote healthy lifestyle among young people; the other objective is to promote Chinese culture among the youth as kung-fu plays and important role in the Chinese tradition.

Kung fu training will be instructed besides gymnastics and athletics as an extracurricular activity. In addition, provincial state official ordered all physical education teachers working in the province to attend martial arts training camps in order to make sure that there will be enough teachers for the elementary and secondary school systems in the future.
