PM Orbán called for acceleration of the South Stream gas pipeline construction

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Alexey Miller, Chairman of Gazprom called for acceleration of the South Stream gas pipeline construction at their Budapest meeting said Bertalan Havasi, the head of the Prime Minister's press office.

The prime minister and the head of Russia's state gas company stressed that the situation in Ukraine confirmed that the South Stream gas pipeline has become a key issue from Europe's energy security point of view. Therefore, they agreed that the work on the South Stream pipeline construction should be accelerated.

The prime minister and Alexey Miller have also discussed Austria's announcement to join the South Stream pipeline project said the Prime Minister's Press Office.
