Former member of the Canadian national team Ivett Gonda represents Hungary at WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix tournament hosted by the Chinese city of Suzhou on July 4.

By participating in the tournament, the European Championship Bronze medalist athlete can win valuable points to qualify for the Rio Olympics.

In terms of points the WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix has the same value as the European Championships held two months ago in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Ivett Gonda lives and trains in British Colombia, Canada.

The other Hungarian taekwondoka who is very close in terms of points to be qualified to compete in the GP tournament is European Championship Silver medalist Edina Kotsis.

The next Grand Prix event will be held in Kazakhstan in August. The Hungarian Taekwondo Federation is hoping that Edina Kotsis can also compete at the Kazakh tournament.
