Here comes Russia's new generation streetcar

The all Russian made new generation streetcar has been introduced to the public this year's Innoprom international industrial exhibition in Ekaterinburg, Russia. The prototype of "Russia 1" model has been inspected by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev as well. The stylish streetcar capable of carrying up to 270 passengers. The new model goes into production in 2015 in the Uralvagonzavod plant.

According to plans, the new streetcar will be ready for operational service in different cities across the country including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd and Yekaterinburg at 2018 FIFA World Cup. The company also expects to obtain foreign orders for the new streetcar in the coming years.
