Propaganda will not feed Ukrainians. The regime is poised to fall with the economy. Hopefully the Oligarchs will fall too.

'With no tangible economy it will be hard for Ukraine to pay off its debt’

rt.com/op-edge/182616-ukrainian-economy-debt-imf-statistics/

Nobody is going to invest in an economy when there is no rule of law, and any certainty that assets will not be in some way squandered, taken away through bribery, or indeed outright stolen, global finance expert Patrick Young told RT.

RT:The IMF expects Ukraine's debt to exceed 62% of its GDP by the end of the year. In your view, is that an accurate picture?

Patrick Young: This is, if anything, possibly a conservative picture, but it is certainly overall accurate giving the information we have. The situation in Ukraine is that obviously it is incredibly difficult when you have had some sort of insurrection on the streets, a revolution, and lots of upheaval because this impacts the economy. And therefore, it is incredibly difficult to get your statistics absolutely precise at such a time. But overall, the IMF is generally getting the right picture.

RT:How big of a problem, or otherwise, is this debt for the country's economy?

PY: Of course having a debt to GDP ratio of 62 percent seems like a wonderful thing if you are the US that is over 100 percent, Italy that is 120 percent and growing rapidly, Greece that is somewhere in the stratosphere [with] a couple of hundred percent or more. Obviously that is an issue, but actually when we look at Ukraine in isolation, what we have to understand is the fact that ultimately the Ukrainian economy is very weak. Therefore, Ukraine has historically had very little foreign debt for the simple reason that actually foreign investors are not dumb enough to lend money to economies that do not function. We have seen Ukraine having quite often 20-30 percent to GDP, which is fabulously easy to manage. Now it has reached this point of 60 percent, which a lot of economists regard as being almost a point of no return, it is a point at which the normal functioning economy has difficulty paying its debt. The problem is of course Ukraine is not a normal functioning economy, it is a remarkably backward economy, and an economy that has gone nowhere for 25 years and at the moment is getting appreciably worse.
...PY: It is really a tragedy for the people of Ukraine. What we see at the moment is an economy that is on the verge of a death spiral. We have obviously seen all the sorts of terrible warfare that is happening within the borders of the country that is a tragedy because actually it is the eastern corner of the country around Donetsk, where in fact industry is, that really adds to the overall GDP. Therefore, we have a problem because of course we have the loss of Crimea reverting to Russia, the Ukrainian economy, the Ukrainian nation has shrunken appreciably in the course of the last year but ultimately the amount of debt that it caused is going up. How is it going to pay for that? I really don’t know, it is going to be incredibly difficult, because what we need to see is an end to the oligarchy rather than another oligarchic president.

Western Propaganda Exposed as Russian Convoy ‘Invades’ Ukraine with Humanitarian Aid

www.globalresearch.ca/western-propaganda-exposed-as-russian-convoy-invades-ukraine-with-humanitarian-aid/

And so the latest propaganda ploy against Russia comes to an abrupt, anti-climatic end.

Sick and tired of Kiev’s stalling games and Western media war lies, the enormous Russian aid convoy has just returned to Russia after successfully delivering their cargo of food and medical supplies to the besieged population of Lugansk, victims of an ethnic cleansing program whose real nature has been shamelessly twisted by Ukrainian and Western leaders, and the MSM presstitutes acting as government stenographers, calling the convoy’s entry into Ukraine an “invasion”.

It’s unclear whether or not Kiev gave its final approval. I’d like to think the Russians just said, “Hell with this, let’s roll!”

...I recommend reading the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs press release on their decision to just deliver the aid and be done with it. Predictably, the Western press has all but ignored this statement, preferring to parrot psychopathic fantasy and imply that it’s in any way factual...

On Behalf of Monsanto: GMO Food Crops for Ukraine’s Bread Basket The Role of Public Relations Firm Hill and Knowlton

www.globalresearch.ca/on-behalf-of-monsanto-gmo-food-crops-for-ukraines-bread-basket/

inally, a little-known aspect of the crisis in Ukraine is receiving some international attention. On July 28, the California-based Oakland Institute released a report revealing that the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), under terms of their $17 billion loan to Ukraine, would open that country to genetically-modified (GM) crops and genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) in agriculture. The report is entitled “Walking on the West Side: the World Bank and the IMF in the Ukraine Conflict.” [1]

In late 2013, the then president of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, rejected a European Union association agreement tied to the $17 billion IMF loan, whose terms are only now being revealed. Instead, Yanukovych chose a Russian aid package worth $15 billion plus a discount on Russian natural gas. His decision was a major factor in the ensuing deadly protests that led to his ouster from office in February 2014 and the ongoing crisis.
...Ukrainian law bars farmers from growing GM crops. Long considered “the bread basket of Europe,” Ukraine’s rich black soil is ideal for growing grains, and in 2012 Ukrainian farmers harvested more than 20 million tonnes of corn.

Monsanto’s Investment

In May 2013, Monsanto announced plans to invest $140 million in a non-GMO corn seed plant in Ukraine, with Monsanto Ukraine spokesman Vitally Fechuk confirming that ‘We will be working with conventional seeds only” because “in Ukraine only conventional seeds are allowed for production and importation.”
...The agricultural associations’ draft amendments coincided with the terms of the EU association agreement and IMF/World Bank loan.

The website sustainablepulse.com – which tracks GMO news worldwide – immediately slammed the agricultural associations’ proposal, with director Henry Rowlands stating: “Ukraine agriculture will be seriously damaged if the Ukrainian government legally allows GM seeds in the country. Their farmers will find their export markets reduced due to consumers’ anti-GMO sentiments both in Russia and the EU.” Rowlands said that Monsanto’s investment in Ukraine “could rise to $300 million within several years. Does Ukrainian agriculture want to totally rely on the success or failure of one U.S.-based company?” ...

The Western media model of SOCIAL CONTROL is to CONSTRUCT REALITY in the media to manage perceptions and beliefs. The fiction is quickly falling apart.

“America Frightens Us”: Europeans are Waking Up. The US is No Longer an Ally of the European Union?

www.globalresearch.ca/america-frightens-us-europeans-are-waking-up-the-us-is-no-longer-an-ally-of-the-european-union/

www.paulcraigroberts.org/2014/08/25/guest-column-germany-america-frightens-us-roman-baudzus/

In the aftermath of the downing of the Malaysian airliner in Ukraine, the Western media followed Washington’s lead and manipulated reports in order to make Europeans believe that Russia and Russian-supported separatists in eastern Ukraine were responsible for downing the airliner. In Germany, the press was an extension of Washington’s propaganda machine despite the lack of evidence from both Washington and Kiev to support their irresponsible claims.

It was not long, however, before the public mood in Europe began to turn. A pivotal factor was openly voiced U.S. threats in a law that had been passed by both the House of Representatives and the Senate of the U.S. Congress that could eventually result in an invasion of the Netherlands by United States army forces.
...The former “quality media” in Europe have lost the confidence of readers. A growing number of Europeans relying on Internet sites such as www.paulcraigroberts.org are quite well informed about the propagandistic nature of the Western mainstream media.

The chart recently published by a leading German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) indicates that for one reason or the other, Germans have turned away from German newspapers.
...Germans wonder why their reunited country is still occupied by US troops 69 years after the end of World War II, why their country has no foreign policy independent of Washington, and why the German media provides no public discussion of these highly unusual characteristics of an allegedly sovereign state.

During the last several years the media’s propagandistic character has led to massive resistance among newspaper readers, especially in Germany. You only have to take a look at the comments published on Internet sites of the mainstream media to see angry and disappointed readers turn away from their once favorite newspapers that are accused of actively participating in Washington´s propaganda campaign.
...Given the danger of Washington pushing Europe into war with Russia, one can be glad that so many Europeans see through the perfidious propaganda lies spread by the mainstream media. Internet sites now perform the role abandoned by newspapers. These mainly independent internet media refer to themselves as alternative media, which have the goal to provide objective and truthful information in place of propaganda.

Some of the large German newspapers destroyed what little credibility they had left when they used social media to spread their claim that the negative comments on their websites were written by people on the payroll of Vladimir Putin. One doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry over this grotesque assertion.

The unanswered question is why does German mainstream media serve Washington instead of Germany? Does Washington pay well for propaganda services?...
