Thursday, December 4, 2014

Olympic Champion canoeist Attila Vajda has been hospitalized with deep vein thrombosis on Wednesday; the 31-year-old athlete said to National Sport that he felt pain in his left leg, and in the past three weeks he could barely walk.

"And now, I got to the point where I could no longer stand. I skipped the morning swimming session and I decided to go to the doctor. They kept me in hospital, and I'm not allowed to get up for five to six days," said Vajda; doctors found an eight to ten centimeters clot in his left calf.

For the time being, it is uncertain when the Beijing gold medalist athlete can start training again.
