Alexander Zaharchenko: The rest of Ukraine can join the People's Republic of Donetsk

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

The head of People's Republic of Donetsk Alexander Zaharchenko said to Life News that the fraternal Ukrainian counties can join the newly formed Donetsk Republic, if they want changes. According Zaharchenko, Kharkov, Zaporozyje, Lviv, Odessa and Kiev could be part of the People's Republic of Donetsk.

Zaharchenko stressed that they pursue the same objectives as Majdan Square protesters: they too want a state without corruption and oligarchs. The difference between the two is that Majdan protesters couldn't achieve their main goals because after the regime change nothing has changed - the oligarchs stayed and corruption is flourishing. The militia, on the other hand, has taken control, and building a corruption free country.

Zaharcsenko also stressed that the People's Republic of Donetsk is a safe place for all political refugees who have been persecuted by Ukrainian authorities because of their opposition to Kiev's policies. Zaharchenko revealed that the restoration of the republic's infrastructure is underway. Donetsk is in the process of building a new country with other counties of Ukraine on the basis a federal system.
