Multiple Wold Champion Kayaker Tamara Csipes and Bence Dombóvári produced positive drug results

The head of the Hungarian Anti-Doping Agency Ágnes Tiszeker confirmed that Multiple World Champion kayaker Tamara Csipes and World Champion silver medalist Bence Dombóvári produced positive drug results (the urine test showed traces of cocaine); due to the fact that the athletes failed the drug test in a non-competitive environment (in a training camp) the World Anti-Doping Agency won't investigate the case.

The Hungarian Kayak-Canoe Federation (MKKSZ) suspended both athletes for four months from being members of the national team.

Neither Csipes nor Dombovari can compete in the upcoming Europe Games tournament in Baku. The Hungarian Kayak-Canoe Federation will decide on the fate of the two athletes later.


The Hungarian Canoe Federation (MKKSZ) to initiate disciplinary procedures against Tamara Csipes and Bence Dombovari; the disciplinary hearing takes place next Monday at the earliest.

The technical director of Canoe Federation also announced that financial support to the two athletes has been suspended immediately.

The resolution also mentions that due to press reports Pest County Police contacted the Canoe Federation requesting all document related to the test result.
