Can the war in Ukraine spread to Transcarpathia?

Thursday, July 23, 2015

"Szlovákiai Új Szó" has learned that in case the war in Ukraine spreads to Transcarpathia the Slovakian, Hungarian and Polish governments open their borders to tens of thousands of Ukrainian refugees.

The three governments apparently, signed a pact establishing the number of refugees each country ready to accept. Accordingly, Hungary and Slovakia will accomodate 20-20 thousand, and Poland will accommodate 40 thousand refugees in case the Ukrainian state collapses and the country plunges into anarchy.

The newspaper has learned that the Hungarian government is already preparing a logistic center in a former military barrack in Zalaegerszeg where thousands of refugees can be housed. The Hungarian ministry of defense refused to comment the information.
