Various technologies are used to build the first sample section of the border fence on the Hungarian – Serbian border

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

After the model section will be completed, experts thoroughly examine the various technologies and pick which one of them seems to be the most effective keeping migrants out - the best one will be used for the construction of the entire 175-kilometer long border barrier.

The fence will be manufactured by prison companies and the actual construction will be carried out by military personnel. Currently, several prisons are involved in manufacturing the fence with the active support of Dunaújváros Steel Ltd. Some of the newly manufactured fence material have already been transported to the border region.

The fence will be three meters high, and include razor wire mesh at the top and bottom; while it could be circumvented relatively quickly by humans with tools, penetrating a razor wire barrier without tools is very slow and difficult giving security forces more time to respond.

The sample fence will be ready later this week; the entire 175 kilometer long fence will be completed on November 30.

I am sorry but this will fail.

They will come with tools and cut trough. Or they will just digg under it. Waste of money if Hungary does not build it right, with en meter cement in the ground and a normal fance and then a other one behind it wich is bigger.

To construct a concrete barrier would cost lots of money. Rumors say that after the construction of the fence border guards will be deployed and security cameras will be mounted along the entire stretch of the fence; by combining several measures the government could significantly increase the fence's effectiveness.

In an earlier statement the government indicated that if migrants cause damage in state property, for instance, cut through the wire fence and caught doing it their assets could be seized to make up for repair costs. This could be a strong signal making them think twice before damage the fence.

I see, however i am still skeptical...

But if there are going to be guards there they need to respond fast like, they got be there under a some minutes. So that people do not escap if they get past the fence.

Also i have heard rumors on a forum the serbs will start selling tools near the border to help illegals get past the fence. Can anyone confirm that?
