The Speaker of Parliament László Kövér pays official visit to the US

The speaker of parliament visits the US to address to the 4th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, which will be held between August 31 and September 2 in the UN General Assembly headquarters in New York city.

Prior to the meeting, on August 29, Kövér takes part in a consecration ceremony in the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington where a Hungarian chapel will be inaugurated during a festive Holy Mass, which will be celebrated by Cardinal Donald Wuerl and Cardinal Primate Péter Erdő.

In New York city Kövér will meet the leaders of the Hungarian communities and Rabbi Arthur Schneier the head of Park East Synagogue who is also the president of the Voice of Conscience Foundation. Kövér also meets with the leaders of the Hasidic Jewish community in Brooklyn says the press-release.

Later on, the speaker of parliament will travel to Cleveland to meet Hungarians living in area and to lay a wreath to the 1956 uprising monument as well as to the statutes of Cardinal József Mindszenty and Lajos Kossuth; then, he participates in the sixtieth Anniversary Scouting Days events.
