Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó met Tehran Mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in Budapest on Friday to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries reporting MTI.
The two sides supporting the initiative of further expanding educational and cultural relations between Iran and Hungary.
Currently, about one thousand Iranian students have been studying at Hungarian Universities. Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó indicated Hungary's readiness to further increase this number.
The two sides also discussed Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's upcoming trip to Iran.
Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó informed the mayor of Tehran Budapest's position on illegal immigration. Mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf assured the Hungarian foreign minister of Iran's understanding of the Hungarian government's handling of the crisis.
