The Hungarian government asking German embassy officials to go to the Eastern Station and personally clarify the official German position on immigration

Wednesday, September 2, 2015

The head of the Prime Minister's Office János Lázár called on German Embassy officials to go to the Eastern Station and personally clarify the German government's position on immigration issues to protesting migrants who want to go to Germany.

The Hungarian government also asking embassy officials to tell migrants what legal procedures they can expect if they enter the territory of Germany including their chances to remain in the country.

The situation at the Eastern Railway Station is quite chaotic and deteriorating daily. On Wednesday, police once again closed off the railway station for migrants; only Hungarian and EU citizens are allowed to enter the railway station.

Demonstrations continue throughout the day and migrants become more aggressive each passing day due to the fact that they are kept in the dark regarding their chances to travel to Germany.

The photos below show the current situation at the railway station, which is bordering the surreal; public spaces in the area are completely taken over by migrants - all these activities are taking place in the heart of Budapest.
