The ministry of foreign affairs and foreign trade called on UN officials to stop lying about Hungary and don't spread disinformation about Hungary's handling of the refugee crisis based on one-sided (liberal) media coverage.
The ministry has responded to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Raad al-Hussein's Sunday's interview with the pan-Arab al-Jazeera TV station in which the high commissioner once again lied about the Hungarian government's handling of the refugee situation.
The Hungarian foreign ministry said: it is regrettable that one of the most important officers of the United Nations forms an opinion on the situation without learning the true facts of the events taking place in Hungary.
The foreign ministry statement pointed out that Hungarian police used tear gas and water cannon against aggressive criminals at the Hungarian – Serbian border crossing rather than innocent refugees like the high commissioner claimed they were who attacked police officers with stones, sticks and pieces of concrete.
We would have liked to hear the position of the high commissioner of the rights of police officers who injured in the clashes while they were attacked by criminal elements (that Zeid Raad al-Hussein called innocent refugees) as they protected the state border said the foreign ministry statement.
