At least twenty thousand people took part Saturday afternoon pro-migrant solidarity rally in the center of Vienna - NGOs and organizers however, claim that at least, sixty thousand people attended the rally.
Speakers of the solidarity rally urged the Austrian government to implement a more "humane refugee policy," stressing that all refugees should receive humane treatment, regardless whether they escaped of war, or persecution or came to the country from some other reasons.
In addition, speakers demanded free and unrestricted movement of migrants across Europe.
According to press reports, a number of refugees living in Austria also spoke at the rally.
Organizers announced a large-scale solidarity concert later in the day where Austrian President Heinz Fischer will also address to the crowd.
