Hungary helps Macedonia with fence construction materials and other tools needed to quickly build a border fence reported Saturday's "Magyar Közlöny".

According to the government's decision, Hungary provides 25 kilometers of 450 to 600 mm diameter and 75 kilometers of 900 to 1000 mm diameter coiled razor wire, gloves, one hidraulic hammer, 10 fingerprint readers and an equal number of computers and digital cameras to Macedonia.

After meeting Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Friday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán assured the Macedonian leader that Hungary will provide all necessary assistance to the Balkan country to defend its borders, be it technical, financial or human assistance.

Macedonian news portal reported last Thursday that fence construction work has already been started on the Macedonian-Greek border near Gevgelija. Army spokesman, however, stressed that for the time being only site preparations are being carried out, in case the government decides on the construction of the fence.
