Security measures beefed up across the country – troops deployed at major intersections in Budapest

Sunday, November 15, 2015

Troops have been deployed at Budapest's major intersections and public areas (needlessly) to increase security in the capital as a result of the Paris terrorist attack Friday night said the Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Saturday.

Ministry of Defence Communiqué recalled that in the wake of the terrorist attacks in France, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán ordered the defense ministry to increase security measures across the country.

As a result, Hungarian Defense Forces beefed up security at military bases across the country and increased army presence at strategically important locations nationwide.

The communiqué highlighted the fact that the army boosted security around military installations at the southern border where Visegrád-4 troops perform joint border patrol.
