Four hundred and five illegal immigrants have been captured from Friday to Sunday in the country – informed the National Police Headquarters on Monday.
On Friday 112, on Saturday 195, and on Sunday 98 migrants were apprehended.
According to information released by Szeged District Court, the migrants' nationality were very diverse; they included a significant numbers of Afghans, Iranians, Pakistanis, and North African nationals, but a few of them came from Haiti and Sri Lanka.
Since last September, Szeged District Court initiated 2126 criminal proceedings against migrants for attempted illegal border crossing; and in five cases for damaging the border fence.
